At the dealer car wont start

OK im unsure whether the salesmen im dealing with is a load or if he's telling the truth. Im down at the dealer making a choice between G35x or G35 i settled for the G35 as it was the only one they had in black. Anyways the guy gives me the key and says "il be with you in a sec go start the car and check out its feats."
Alright everything sounds good until i get in and try to start it. I hear some weird noises the car wont start. I go back to the salesperson and he says "oh i forgot we took out the battery so noone test drives the car".

What are your thoughts on this matter? I dont want to buy something thats supposed to be brand new and it wasnt even working at the dealer...

P.S I already have a hefty deposit layed down on it

Did you look and see if there was a battery in the car?

thats odd.. but sounds like a dead battery vs. no battery if it made weird noises.

No i never checked but he says as a part of the PDI charge they will put the battery back in and ensure that the car is functioning properly.

Haha i was thinking that myself...but its because the dealer is having an anniversary sale which cut 4500 from the price also a pretty decent finance rate of 2.9 percent...both of which im not guaranteed if i walked away and decided to purchase later on in the year.

Car not starting? Customer probably left a light on and battery drained...

VERY common at dealerships.

You should be able to get 1.9 now for 60 months, plus the 4500 off msrp is good but that should be normal considering the pending g37 sedan release.
