My second 'G'
My second 'G'
I previously leased a 2005 G35 Coupe 6MT in brilliant silver with nav/premium/spoiler....it's actually still in the driveway because I don't have to turn it in until 9/30/2008...I will miss her. sniff sniff.
To help the pain, I just bought a Platinum Graphite 2008 G35 Journey Sport Sedan with Premium package. Took advantage of the 0.9% 60mo financing and got it for $34,500 less the $1,000 loyalty rebate (the rebate is applied AFTER tax, so it wasn't $33,500, but close enough). I guess this is my 'grown up' car...now we can cart around our 2 year old in more than one car. So far, I love this car, but my homelink transmitter doesn't work...Guess I have to see the stealer about that one.
From experience, the G35 is HORRIBLE in the snow, so I just bought a set of Blizzak's and rims from TIRE RACK for just over $1,000, with the backorder on the Blizzak's I should have these just before the fall.

Yeah, I tried everything. I actually reset my garage door opener and reprogrammed the other cars that have homelink using the 'learn' button.
I figure the 2005 G35 homelink is similar to the 2008, and was able to successfully reprogram that one. It seems that it's not transmitting any sort of signal at all.

I did erase the memory, however, I just got a call back from Homelink and here's what I was doing incorrectly.
I would 'program' the mirror successfully by putting the transmitter next to the mirror and holding both the transmitter button as well as the desired button on my mirror. Then, when I pressed the button on the mirror it would indicate a rolling code was being used. Here's where I screwed up - I cleared the codes and then tried the "learn" process on the garage door. Oops. I should never have cleared what the mirror had learned, b/c it requires this to transmit out to the garage door and learn the rolling code.
Duh.
Whew, I just canceled my trip to visit Satan!

I was one of those idiots running the summer tires on OEM 19's in the dead of winter with snow on the ground. Sometimes, I literally had to go like 10 -15 mph with my hazards on in a 45 speed zone. I probably got stuck in my driveway about half a dozen times. Never again. From what I'm hearing, by downsizing my wheel (from 18" to 17") and putting on Blizzak's, I should be able to drive with a bit more assurance this winter. With my luck, we'll get zero snow this year!!!
On a side note, I was able to get my homelink working...I feel like a dumba$$ for not getting it right the first time.
