my friends at an Infiniti dealership know I am soon to be purchasing a 2006/2007 G35 coupe.
My market range is to have the vehicle under 25k mileage and under 21k asking price.
I also want extended warranty, they pointed out an Elite Warranty (dealership warranty -they said there are different kinds), and it's for 5 years and will run 2000, since I am friends with them they will cut that down to 1700.

(of course I will be bargaining the vehicle price as well).
Does this sound right to you?

looking for a vehicle under 25k mileage for 21k+warranty price.
Any idea what rough estimate I should be looking to ask for in terms of price (before tax/title/plates fees, etc).

I have checked kbb, autotrader, vehix, yahoo autos, etc, I know that what I'm asking for within a price range is somewhat reasonable, I have yet to fully determine if I will qualify (able to find) a premium or sport packaged G coupe, but I just want to at least determine from YOU experts here what you think I should be paying.

Thank you.

That is a good price for the year/mileage IMO. I STOLE mine - $16,7, for an 05, but the mlg was at 52 when I bought it. Still have 2k left on fact warranty. They quoted me $1775 for ext warranty that mirrors the manuf. It went to $2800 if I purchased the ext after the manu was up. I didn't get it. Didnt sell my E in time to get the ext before paying almost double, plus I want to mod. AND I'm married to a mechanic . He's teaching me to work on my G. We are putting on my Zspings today I hope. I get to be a Grease Monkey!

IMO, (this is a woman speaking, lol) you should walk in, offer them $17k after pointing out everything wrong with it, rock chips, (NOTE any rattles in cabin, very common on the G, but MIGHT get you a little discount!), curb rash on wheels, under front bumper, any paint flaws/dents, THEN call your "friend" in front of them and ask how that ther: car looks and you are on the way to check it out. Hey, worked for me! LMAO!!! But I do think $21k for an 06/07 w25K is a good deal. If you can get them down more tho, why not?? Good luck! I am looking forward to hearing the outcome and how you managed to work them down to your "ideal" price.

Thanks for input!

I'm personal friends with the used car manager there at Infiniti as well as I know all the mechanics and a few service writers there for the past couple years. They always show me full carfax, maintenance records, etc, always full infiniti used car certified.
I also work at a shop so it's no big deal to work on my future car (I work on my current car there as is)

When I do purchase the car or am going to look at it, etc, I have a couple of really good mechanic friends at my work both ASE certified and have been working on cars (not just Infiniti's) for the past 15-20 years, and I'll have them come check it out with me

I am not to worried about the price range since I can be very persuasive when it comes to cars.. I just wanted to see at least if my expectations were within spec of what is offered right now and what will be offered a few months down the road.

I thought I did pretty good with my wheeling and dealing. I just showed them a little leg and cleavage. LMAO! J/K!! Really though, when I found MY G - and I knew that was my Miha - no question, I really did call the other dealership I just left and asked them what their best deal for the 03 I looked at (but knew I wasn't getting) in front of them. I told them I was going to the bank, got directions (we drove to Dallas - 3hours - to test drive/buy a G) to the nearest Cap1, and that I would return to the dealership that gave me the best deal with money in hand. I still paid $3k more for the 05 - SOOOOO WORTHIT!

You're Welcome Tofu! I feel my modesty slipping away by the moment, vanity is creeping in, lmao!
I truly wish you the best of luck. I will check on your thread periodically for pics (and purchase price IF you decide to list it) of your new ride! I still think you should go with the 6MT....imo. I'm a little partial.
