No longer lurking in the shadows

Hey everybody. It is about time for me to introduce myself. I have been lurking for several months and had not posted an introduction because my 05 6mt IP is 100% stock. So notihing new to look at really.

I want to take a moment and thank every regularly posting forum member.I have learned a tremendous amount by way of the infamous "search" button. Consequently I have not opened my mouth and inserted a foot YET....

My car was an unexpected find. Basically I bought it from one of my best
friends for $17000....it has under 24k miles even though its an 05. He knew I had saved up some downpayment money and was in the market to buy a car. And my buddy is now married with child and he wanted out from under the car payment. He took the car to a carmax dealership to see about unloading the car. They offered him 17k. He approached me and showed me the appraisal and asked me if I would be interested. I quickly checked some prices of low mileage g35's in the washington dc area and they were still bringing in $20k and up. So I bought it outright(over about a 3 month period-i gave him his payoff with my downpayment money and the rest over the past 3 months)...and fell in love with owning a manual shifting sporty car. So much for the honda/toyota sedans I was considering...

Here are a couple cell phone pics....

I was gonna be angry if you forgot to post up pictures or overpaid for your car. You are #1 in my book for NEWBS. You got a solid price on the car and extremely low miles for a G35 of that year. I would see if it is still under warranty and get an oil consumption testing on the way. You car has the rev-up motor which will consume more oil than other G35. Please continue using the SEARCH button and thanks to MODS they have put it in 16 different places so you can't miss it.

Hit me up via PM if you want me to get you an AUTOCHECK report on the car for your own records.

Thanks for the offer on the autocheck-I have learned that it seems to be a more thorough check than carfax. This situation was a bit unique. I was actually with him when he came across this car. He bought it back in early 07 from the same carmax that he took it to to get appraosed-for those who are local in washington dc area, I am referring to the carmax in Rockville, Md on Rockville Pike. I am as confident as I can be that the car is clean. I am aware of the rev-up oil consumption thing. My friend advised me that he had not noticed any excessive oil burn and his oil of choice has been valvoline synthetic since day 1.
