Just picked my G35 x up Friday
Hello all and thanks for the wealth of Info. I will probably become a premium member once I have had a chance to check you site out.
I just picked up / "Stole" my loaded 07 G35x from a dealership in Dallas/Ftworth and drove it 1100 miles home to central Ohio. What an incredible Journey. The car road like it was on rails, Temp gauge stayed glued at 3 0r 4 notches above cool(107f in texas heat) the whole 1100 miles. I sold my Boxster "S" and bought htis car I and I have no regrets
The acceleration is on par with my "S", but the handling in the curves doesn't quite match up. I do have to get use to that Throttle response on this as it is brutal. I average 22.9mpg at 85mph for about 500 miles. I did average 27mpg at 55mph for about 100 miles across indiana's construction zone(bastards).
I had a 150 point "prebuyers" inspection and they said it needed $3491 in work.
Ok, 2500 was the steering wheel, cluster lid replace and window switch panel due to the paint chipping off(It really isn't that bad). The rest was Diff fluid($70 each) and atf fluid($220), wipers($40), tire sensor($150), air filter($65), Balance and rotate($59), replace missing battery cover($99) air induction system service($130). They claimed my atf and diff fluid was contaminated/burnt. I will change it ASAP as I don't think the previous owner did it. Everything else passed with flying colors
Couple questions. I am coming up on my 60k service and wanted to know a couple things. I DId all my services on my Boxster(alt, plugs, oil, throttle bod clean, Atf fluid change(PITA)... So My skill level is below a certified Mechanic, but miles above a pep boys employee
1.) can a nissan dealership do the service as My closest Infinity is 50 miles away?
2.) Is the tire sensors and easy replace for DIY?
3.) I did try searching but with no luck, where is a good place to buy sensors, and other replacement parts?
4.) Lastly(for now), How tuff is it to do the ATF and DIFF or should I pay the Stealership to do it. I think I have seen it come to around $500 to $800 for your 60k service. I really want to do the first first one the right way, so I have peace of mind, but I don't want to bend over and take it like "Ned Beatty" either
Thanks again for the great site, MP from Ohio
I am already planning a grill paint and window switch panel paint(same time). Thanks to MikeYo's most excellent write up on here.

Hello and welcome to the fam.
Nissan dealerships can take care of any services (unless it is warranty work).
The TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitor System) I would go to your nearest Discount Tire store and ask them to check your sensors to see if any need to be replaced, if they don't ask them to relearn them. If you need to replace them you can buy them from Discount Tire.
If you have the right tools you can do most of your services yourself.

Only pics I have so far are from the ebay auction(link below). I am in the process of doing the grill paint and detailing it. That won't happen until our temps drop below 90 degrees though.
Here is my ebay auction I won. I just had the car checked out by the Dayton Ohio inifinity dealer. The said the car passed everything with flying colors. I did have the atf, both diffs fluid changed out. The radiator fluid and crank case was still in great condition. a pair of wipers and the 2 fluid changes ran me $350, but for peace of mind it was worth it

I gotta fess up, It was a bit higher than that(mid to high teens). I knew they weren't gonna sell it to me for that without a big nasty legal battle, as they forgot to put a reserve. But I did get it quite a bit under their cost. He showed me the aution sheet, and I use to be a New car sales manager. Leverage is a beautiful thing

I have been kicking azz on my list of things to do. Got the front grill painted, Not 100% happy, but it looks a heck of alot better, got floor mats also. I did all the fluid changes and replaced my air filters. The car passes the inspection with flying colors(except right rear tire pressure sensor as it is stuck on 15psi).
I just got my shipment of polishing pads for my porter cable buffer. I will get started in the am on the clay bar, meguirers ultimate compound(lt swirls), and then a polymer followed by a canuba wax. Being from texas I specifically asked they didn't detail the out side as they would have probably messed it up worse than it is.
The biggest suprise, besides the acceleration and ride, was the music box 10gig hd. The previous owner had about 50 cds burnt on it of Jazz, B. marley, phish G.dead and some others. Only takes about 4 to 6 minutes to burn a cd.
Clean car fax, besides a small ding on bottom skirt of the front bumper, a few scrapes on the steering wheel and paint peeling on the window control panel, the car was darn near perfect

This is what I sacraficed for my G35x(no regrets so far
