After searching for the perfect G35 for 2 years I finally found me one last Wednesday! I got my '05 MT Coupe with only 50k miles and loving it! My G35

One quick question I would like some more info on if any of you have dealt with it...this car had the engine replaced by the dealer 20k miles ago due to the oil consumption issue. Basically I'm wondering if any of you have had your engine replaced and if so did it completely resolve the issue. It's really the only thing that has me nervous about this car but for the deal I got I couldn't let that worry me too much considering I had all the dealer service and maintenance records from the previous owner. I am changing the oil this weekend just for my own peace of mind.

Additionally, thanks to all of you for the effort you all provide to make this forum what it is. It is by far the best community online for G drivers.

 

Welcome. 2 years is a really long time for searching for a G. But some revup motors of 05-06 6mt G's have oil consumption issues. The long or short block replacement has some resolution but you should still check your oil level.

I have a 06 6mt w/ about 36k miles and have still yet to have any problems. "knock on wood"

 

Oh trust me I'll definitely keep her maintained. I've always done my own maintenance to any car I've had so I will always be aware if something goes wrong, I was just curious as to any experiences any of you may of had.
