Just bought a beautiful blue G35!
I recently bought a 2005 athens blue G35 6M coupe. Love it!
100,000 miles.
Sport package.
Pretty good condition all around. Not perfect but very close.
$11,500 + tax, title, reg and all that crap. Price seemed great to me!

The car was quite a bit under nada/blue book due to 3 reasons:
Mileage
Clutch was sticking
Airbag sensor problem
Mileage? Eh I don't think it's too high. I've never owned a car with less than 100,000 miles anyway.
Clutch? Fixed that easy. (so far so good)

^ I pulled out so much sludgy fluid.
I've searched a lot on the airbag issue, seems connected to a recall / TSB issue? Is there a way to check what recalls have been done with my Vin # online?

There are two distinctive clutch "sticking" issues from what I understand.
1) Clutch DOESN'T stick at the engagement point, but instead sticks a little beyond that on it's return upward. This isn't a big deal, and seems to be caused by the pedal assembly. Can happen in almost any car.
2) Clutch DOES stick at or around the engagement point. Usually once the engine heats up, and/or hot days over 80°F. Try revving up the engine to at least four grand and dropping it quickly (but not a complete drop). If the pedal doesn't travel with your foot, or hesitates for a second then quickly 'pops' up, this is probably the issue you are looking at. This can happen on any gear shift, any speed, any RPM, etc. I was just giving an example on how to 'test' for it.
You can search the forum and find a very detailed guide on fixing this. The easy fix works for most people. You will basically be flushing the fluid little by little. If that doesn't work it may be a failed pressure plate, which Infiniti/Nissan seems to overlook from what I understand.

Sadly I found a different issue...
The paint has little tiny chips in it. Or I think they are at least. They look like 1mm black spots, I believe they are chips. I have searched and searched for "paint" "paint chips" "black dots" and can't find anything that really helps me. From what I hear the paint Nissan/Infiniti uses is pretty bad? Or is this a clear coat failure. Should I get this car a new clearcoat to stop further chipping or something?

Nissan paint is absolute fail. It's some of the softest paint I've ever seen.
When I had my Maxima, the front bumper looked like it had been eaten alive from the PO doing a lot of highway driving. And this was with 101,000 on the odo when I brought it home. My G looks the same way. The front end looks like it has been hit by a sand blaster.
Your best bet might be buying touch-up paint from Nissan or an autoparts store. If the chips are that bad, I'd get the bumper/hood/maybe fenders repainted and cleared, and then have a clear bra installed.
As far as your question about TSBs, call Nissan or Infiniti and give them your VIN. They can give you a definitive list of all the TSBs/recalls for your model year, and tell you which have and have not been done. Heck, you might get a few free new parts out of it.![Big Grin](https://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
At any rate, welcome to driver.

My car does have a clear bra, came with one. For good reason it seems! The chips are on the hood, side of the car, and even the back. Simply put they are everywhere, but like I said they are small, barely noticeable, and not clumped near each other.
Without spending a fortune, would I be able to just get a whole new clear coat on the car to stop future chipping. With a high quality clear coat applied by a decent autobody place? Or myself somehow if anyone has a suggestion![Confused2](https://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/confused2.gif)
Thanks everybody!

I believe they are on correctly. The driveway has a crooked spot and a drop there, I think that's what's causing the weird look. I will double check when I get out to my car, but I believe they are correct.
