Hey everybody,
Well, just bought my first G35 Coupe and I'm diggin it.
It's a 2003 original owner (Lady) Desert Platinum automatic wih 92K miles. Black leather, heated seats, Navi, sunroof, 18" wheels, but no rear wing. The center console is in perfect condition with zero scratches (unbelievable) and is silver all the way to the center armrest. My question is, how do I know if is the sport model or not?
The airbag light came on yesterday after just owning it a week so I took it to my local Infinity dealer and the said the code it through was common and the repair was covered by a recall so, there would be no charge to me
I also didn't like the front tires that came with the car (Nitto 555's all around) because they were a little worn on the inside. I took it to the tire shop today and had some BF Goodrich G-Force Comp 2's put on the front and aligned it.
I bought this from a local Audi dealer who took it on trade from the original owner and I also added a 2 year bumper to bumper warranty just for piece of mind.
I have attached a photo, but it's been awhile since I have had a car worthy of a forum due to oldest son in college eating up my retirement funds so I hope it worked:
There is not a single dent, ding or scratch on this car and I can't wait to let the mod's begin

Welcome and congrats on the pickup. The sport model came with brembo brakes and a 6 speed MT. So to answer your question no you dont have a sport model.

Thanks fellas,

I think I want to do an intake and front spoiler first, exhaust will have to wait, but is third on the list. I would lke to lower it a bit, but I'm 48 and the ol lady gives me a hard time about being too old to be lowering cars any more. I have restored a few cars over the yeas and she was cool with the tastefull restoration pro touring looks, but not on newer cars. I would trade her in for a new model, but after 28 years, it's cheaper to keep her....

lol

Never too old to go a little lower.. the G has ridiculous wheel gap, you don't have to tuck tires to make it look better!

Welcome to the forum, we're glad to have another "old fart".

Check out this thread and maybe you'll feel more at home, we can't let the kids have all the fun. https://g35driver.com/forums/g-spot/...le-thread.html On the subject of lowering, if you're a gear head it's really common with the G since the wheel gap is horrendous, especially on the sedans. Here's my DD, ask the old lady if she doesn't like the look. We have several older wives in our local car club and they all dig my ride.

Nice, welcome to the G Club...You are not to old to lower...Other then my sidemarkers and all white led mod.. My suspension was my first big mod...With the G being super sensitive to lowering, I went with a slight performance enhancing drop...Looks and handles better then stock. Tein H-tech springs with 350z Tokico Hp shocks....And didn't break the bank...No need for an intake on these cars IMHO..Just get you a drop in K/N Filter and a Z-tube. And on the exhaust side get you some Fast intention HFC,s... That is where a lot of restriction is. Congrats

Welcome to DRIVER Knightstiq, clean coupe....nice! Before you jump on the mod wagon do a SEARCH using the word "Lowering" and discover what's required to do the job correctly without destroying your tires. It's more involved than it was when you and I installed drop spindles and got an alignment.

Thanks for all the replies and info.
Blue Dream, nice ride and I like the stance!!!!!!!
About the HFC's, they all seem to be around $500, but none that I have een say they are CARB legal in CA. Any help?
Also, s far as the stance goes and lowering, maybe I will sneak that one in there later. You know what they say, a happy wife = a happy life
I did drop my 2002 Z06, but they did that in about 10 minutes with no parts required othr than the skateboard wheels they mount under the front nose to help with driveways.
As long as it is not too exensive, maybe I can swin something.....
