Hey Guys I just purchased a 2006 G35X, It had 66,000 miles on it. I am in love with this car. My last car was a 05 4runner and sadly I had to sell my r6 because the Navy is making me move somewhere not yet known haha. Anyways I wanted to introduce myself to this great community. I am getting the brakes, rotors, alignment done as part of the deal when I purchased the vehicle. I have tried looking around the forums to see what common "problems" this particular year has but could not really find anything useful. Should I change all fluids? What would you recommend I should get checked out? Could you guys please tell me what I should expect to fix or maintain with these beauties? Thanks again and this car is fast and comfortable!

damn 42 views?! no replies = no love? haha I am guessing there are no problems eh? Well the first mod I have done today is getting bosch wiper blades. And I just noticed that my wheels don't have wheel locks!
And I finally found the stock Nissan jack but could not find the bar or X bar (not sure whats its called). Is it usually next to the jack in the left side of the trunk compartment?

When I first got my X I didn't trust the old owner so I:

1) Did an Mobil 1 oil change
2) Changed fluid on rear diff
3) Changed fluid on transfer case
4) Changed fluid on front diff
5) Change out air filter
6) New pads on the back, front was fine.
7) Thorough interior and exterior cleaning.

G runs great, no complaints.

Welcome! I just got one of the same a month ago. 74K miles, 1-owner with all dealer service records and 75K service just performed. So I didn't have to worry about what to do upon acquiring it except start driving it and keep on maintaining it on schedule.

My first mod? JDM battery cover for the driver-side stupid opening at the master cylinder. The engine compartment now looks finished. It bugged me from the moment I first opened a G35 hood, and I was so delighted to discover that there was a way to put a lid on it and give it the clean symmetry it was begging for.

I better go look in my trunk to make sure I can find all the jack stuff if I ever need it :-)

hey thanks all for the replies! I am definitely getting my fluids changed, and I have slight shaking from the steering wheel at 80mph(maybe wheel balances is needed) Yea I am also planning on getting tints done down here in SC. I might be moving to NY soon and they changed the tint laws to 70% !. But If I have SC plates, would I need to change my tints again to 70%?

Yea can you let me know if you found your jack stuff? Kinda weird I only found the jack and no tools with it. And more shocked that there were no wheel locks on the rims. They are good looking rims and I would imagine people would like to steal them.

Thanks FAIZ for the link man I appreciate it.

I believe wheel locks were an option.

Nobody has messed with my wheels without locks. 17" OEM sedan wheels aren't exactly in high demand. If i had sport 18's or coupe 19's, i'd put locks on.

Congrats on the new car! I just got mine a few weeks ago and I love it. They're really well built beautiful cars and this community makes it so much better. Just don't make the same mistake I did by trying to ride out the bald tires for the summer. I crashed mine within less than a week of ownership because of that, resulting in over $6'000 in damages. Oh well, I got it back now and it runs fine but I think I might need a new wheel bearing.

Enjoy your car man!!
