Hello from Houston.
I had an 05 350Z 6MT before I got married years ago. It was mildly modded with a Carbonetics triple plate racing clutch, AEM CAI, and Greddy dual exhaust. Sold it before the wedding...
Fast forward to now, I have two kids. I was using my Powerstroke to commute but at 70 miles round trip, it was adding up. I found a good deal on an 03 G35 with 62k miles and picked it up today as a commuter primarily, but one that was family capable if needed. It is the Dark Blue (Caribbean Blue?) with a tan interior. I'm glad to not have to rack up daily miles on the truck, and to be back with a VQ35 motor.
I don't think I'm going to be modding it as much I did the Z, but the radio/speakers suck, and I miss the exhaust grumble. On the interior, the trim is starting to wear and fade, around the shifter and going up to the radio. I think I'll track down a brushed aluminum trim kit, and bolt on an exhaust later. I might replace the radio/speakers so I can interface with an iPhone but not a priority as it takes me to work and back.
I do my own maintenance as much as possible and I love the video DIY section already.
