New G Owner
Hey guys I just picked up my first G coupe two days ago.
I'm still getting used to the transition from my previous car(2007 335i coupe 6mt)
but I switched to the G for all the right reasons, reliability being the biggest one.
I found a good deal on craigslist I just couldn't pass up. It's a 2007 LaserRed G35 Coupe 6MT with only 26,000 miles and One Owner, with black interior with every option that could be added except RearActiveSteering. I couldn't believe the condition when I came to check it out, it was practically brand new. Still had the new car smell and everything, and knew it was one of those deals that couldn't be passed up. He wanted $20,450. Luckily I gained a thing or two about negotiating when I used to work at a pawnshop and got the car for a crazy good deal.
What do you guys think?

Bud did you do your research? Congrats on the purchase and all but check your oil each day before you drive... 06-07 6MT REVUP motors are notorious for sucking oil down and if you have an oil consumption issue a full engine replacement is down the line.

Yes I did my research about the oil consumption issues some people have been experiencing so knew what I was getting myself into, but I highly doubt I need to prepare for a whole new engine. The previous owner hasn't had any issues with the oil consuming fast, and I hear as long as I regularly get my 3000 mile oil change then I should be fine. Worst case I'll have to start adding a quart of oil every now and then. Besides, who knows maybe I wont run into this issue. It would be hard to believe EVERY single rev-up motor has had this issue.
