Talking Oh look, another noob.

Hello Cleveland!... Uh, G35Driver.

I am a newbie to these cars. I picked one up shortly before winter for a pretty nice price. I'm from upstate-NY. It's cold a lot up here... Also plenty of salt.

It's interior is pretty plain, it doesn't have any extra gauges. Just the Nav/Bose Package, VLSD and Brembos.

It has the 17in G35 wheels so that I had to pay less for snow tires... I also have a set of 17x9.5 MB Battles, which for reference, will fit a G35 with Brembos with plenty of clearance. Also have the Stock 18" wheels, they just have shot tires. I'd love to take this for some open autoX days but it needs a few things...

Future Plans:
Gauge Pods (Custom?)
BFGoodrich Sport Comp2s
Stillen Oil Cooler
Wideband O2, Oil Pressure, Oil Temp, and Water Temp gauges

Not sure what else I'll be doing, I'd really like a Kuruma front bumper at some point though haha. Thanks for having me!

So, here's how it looks right now.

If you can spot the special surprise, points for you!

Hey... I don't see belts on the front of my eng.... Oh.

Nice looking G! Definitely don't run autoX on the 17s, but the 18s with a quality summer tire make for great track wheels. If you can afford it, look into Michelin Pilot Super Sports. A little noisy but clearly one of the best tires out there.

Ha! I was about to break out my flame thrower based on those future mod plans.... then I recognized that "special surprise," lol.

welcome to the club, make sure you've got a proper tune on there... VQ's and boost are finicky

I know nothing about boosted VQ's. One of the reasons I came here. I want to learn. The car as 87k right now, and apparently one of the earliest kit-designs from Vortech. It's been running for a while and seems okay. Don't know it's history, although I did buy it from a dealer.

Wanted the gauges and cooler to make sure I'm still running within safe limits. As for a tune, I'd also need to do proper fueling at that point and I know I don't have money for either. So far this has been a pretty reliable car!

I actually work for one of the many Michelin dealers, and they are definitely out of my price range. When I had a 240, I used the Sport COMP2s by BFGoodrich and they worked pretty damn well for their price-point. Wet and dry grip was very good.

I didn't know if my stock tires at 225 front and 245 rear were wide enough to run the Vortech with lol. Another reason I came here!

I would at least go to a local shop with a dyno and check the AFR's under load, also check what spark plugs you're running. If they're not one step colder (NGK LFR6AIX-11) you need those
