New '06 Coupe Owner (Risky Buy)

Just purchased a 2006 black on black coupe, 90k, with a few issues.

Originally they asked for 12, after the test drive I talked them down to 9. Some issues = Drivers door handle damaged. Wheels painted black...l'm not against this if it's done right but these are not that great. TPMS sensor on. Vibration from the rear at certain speeds. I think it's either an unbalanced or damaged drive shaft or U bolt issue, or the wheels are bent. That issue is why they came so far off the retail price. It's a bit risky. However, the motor feels strong, the transmission shifts great and those are the two biggies. Also the nav system is asking for the original navigation DVD so that's fun.

I'll post in here when the issues are fixed and what the problems were.

Carfax was clean, no accidents.

Ok now a picture. Apologies for it being so dirty. Drove it 5 hours home in the rain from the dealership.

Love this place, hope to stay and learn a ton and be a part of the group soon.

Welcome to the G community! Looks like you have some work to do to fix it up. You can check the balance of the wheels to see if they are good. It could also be the driveshaft as well. I got my driveshaft replaced at 60k. The U joints went bad on mine. after you fix the broken parts, you have any plans for your G?

yeah, I'll need tires soon so I'm thinking about replacing those wheels or having them powdercoated. It rides really rough also thinking about suspension upgrades too.

After that possible a turbo, depends on if I can get a little help from some family members. I'd hate to not be able to get it inspected after.

Definitely getting a new radio, double din touchscreen soon. I don't have any cd's, all my music is on my phone.

I've been reading the posts about the rev engine, which mine has too.. The last few days the oil level hasn't changed. I don't see any white or blue smoke. I'll definitely keep an eye on it

If you should need someone to work on it, Autotrends on Battleground is the place to go. Nissan specialists, particularly Zs. I bought '06 sedanX used from Modern Infiniti, and Autotrends was recommended to me for the pre-purchase inspection by my local trusted mechanic. They were great. Knowledgeable, the inspection was very reasonable at $60, promptly done when I got there by prearrangement, super clean and professional facility with comfortable waiting room. They know what to look for, pointed out the (minor) issues, good bill of health which has proven to be the case. Highly recommended.

I purchased an updated DVD for my 06 nav from a member on here. I'm sorry I don't remember the username. It was around 20 bucks and works great. The car LOOKS good. I hope you get those problems resolved. I think you will be happy with the car. Congrats!
