New Member (Now Active) 08 G35 Coupe

I joined originally when I purchased my 2008 G35 RWD Sedan, but never posted. I was on the fence about keeping her or going back to what I knew better, but I love her and am planning additional upgrades so I figured I would share.

Bought her from CarMax in late 2013 in Plano, TX (We can argue the purpose of this at any point; I can swing both ways on the Good and the Bad. That said, when I brought her back in with a laundry list of items "wrong" with her, they fixed them all on the spot with zero $ out of my pocket including a Dash-Warping concern). I currently live in the Kansas City area. I barely drive her, so as it stands today she has less than 60K miles. Right after I bought her I had the following done at Crest Infiniti in Plano, TX:
  • Rear Camera Installed
  • Stillen Gen 3 Ultra Long Tube Dual Intake Kit
  • Stillen Grounding Kit
  • Stillen Underdrive Performance Lightweight Crank Pulley
  • Stillen Headers
  • Stillen High-Flow Catalytic Converters
  • ARK Cat-Back Exhaust System

I am planning to do the following in the near future:
  • New Tires all the way around
  • Motordyne 5/16" Copper Iso Thermal Plenum Spacer
  • Motordyne MREV 2 Manifold TM

I toyed with the idea of installing a Supercharger and making her a true "sleeper" (I would need to go back to my stock exhaust if I wanted to be a TRUE sleeper), but cost became an issue.

As mentioned, I'm in the KCMO area. I've been to Infinity of Kansas City (nice people) and Fenton Nissan of Lee's Summit (also nice people). I plan to post over in the Midwestern group, but if anyone knows of a good/honest Tuner of G35's close to me a recommendation would be appreciated.

Andrew

Title was a little confusing...but the content cleared it up.
Interested to hear how the header/exhaust system sounds, love the Ark systems.

Welcome to the group, Andrew. I noticed you are planning on the Motordyne MREV2 and ISO Thermal plenum spacer. Those are not compatible with the VQ35HR engine the 07-08 sedans come with. Those only fit 03-07 coupes and 03-06 sedans.

Thanks SmokingSkull, but I'm a bit concerned since I had a shop (who knew what year I owned) suggested the Motordyne 5/16" Plenum Spacer Kit. It wasn't until I did some more reading that I found the MREV2 which didn't suggest being an issue for my 08. And more research will be done. Thanks again.

Anytime. The MREV2 was created to fix a design flaw in the lower plenum on the Revup engine. This engine came in 2005+ 6MT G35 coupes and sedans. In 2007+, 350Zs and G35 sedans came with the HR engine. The intake manifold was completely redesigned to incorporate dual intakes and throttle bodies. Unfortunately, Motordyne doesn't make that super clear on their website.
