Talking A young G35 owner looking to learn things

Along with the help of my parents, I bought a fully stock 04 G35 coupe (Automatic :/) for my first car back in April. It had 1 owner and came with a 150k miles and so far Ive added about 5k miles to it. I am looking forward to my plans of tuning it up as I go into my second year of college. Im open to suggestions on what I should do to my car.

I'd start with the basic cosmetic items, black grille and clear side markers on the front. Also correct any deficiences that exist even if they're minor and make sure your alignment has been checked recently.

Since you're in college I STRONGLY recommend you hold off on any performance improvements if there is going to be any college loans to pay off. It's much better to get into the habit of being debt free than it is being in the habit of buying go-fast parts when you owe big $$ to anyone

What aspects are worth the most to you? Cosmetic improvement? Handling and suspension? Building horsepower? This looks like a very clean vehicle to be working with so also spend some time researching how to KEEP it looking immaculate with proper exterior/interior care. Washing/waxing your vehicle during winter months is as vital as the summer months for a long-lasting finish.

Congratulations on picking up that low mileage find and good luck with all the future upgrades! Enjoy your new ride and be sure to share your progress!

I definitely want to start with those basic cosmetic items previously stated, I am also looking forward to lowering the car just a few inches and changing the rims (those have to go, wheres the best place to purchase rims for no more than $600?). I dont see myself tooking into major horsepower improvement until after college. And I currently reside in central Florida so winter isnt really a thing here but I do wash and wax my car weekly.

You aren't gonna be able to lower the G with camber/toe kits, and with a bic boi budget of $600 for wheels and tires (Not Rimzzz yo) you can pretty much only get OEM 19's. At that the tire size will likely break you.

Up your budget or leave it as is. It's not so bad!

Fast is simply the result of the investment. A $10k G with $15k in mods will smoke a $25k new vehicle. It's incredibly hard to find anything that can perform at a higher level than the G with the same investment.

What is hard to do is make a newer and faster vehicle look at good as the G which is why many are drawn to it.
