Just Another New Guy Without a Clue
live just outside Kansas City, ex Special Forces Medic now Trauma Nurse...
just picked up a 05 G35 coupe (AT) (VQ35DE)
only thing I've done so far is the audio system.... speakers, subs and amps are all JL Audio with Alpine head unit (does both android & apple car play)
future pans (when it warms up):
injen cold air intake
Motordyne MREV2 Manifold
5/16 Plenum Spacer
Kinetix Racing V upper plenum
NWP 75 Throttle Body
Motordyne ShockWave TDX2 with v3Art pipes
Headers - from what I've read - I should just stay with stock
also want to add but no clue when:
different grille
gauge pod - oil pressure, temp, voltmeter
PML transmission pan
rear differential bushings and cover
No plans for turbo or supercharger or doing trackdays...
flame away lolz

I like it.
The MREV wasn't made for your engine, it was made for the REVUP engine.
Kinetix plenum has no proven gains on dyno.
75mm tb is a waste of money no increase in power.
Also CAI is a waste. Again OEM is best if non/turbo.
I like the silver! It looks like a JDM 350GT.

No flames just a little advice
-Stay away from any intakes that are metallic tubes and draw air from the engine bay, you will LOSE horsepower. Instead look into the factory '05-'07 rev up (6MT) air box with a z-tube (intake pipe from a 350Z).
-You don't need the MREV2 since you don't have the rev-up VQ35DE
-Kinetix upper plenum probably won't see any gains if you already have the 5/16'th plenum spacer, or if you do it will be at the cost of low end torque, it's really designed to be used with forced induction.
-Headers will just shift power from the low end to the upper, since you don't plan on tracking the car you will just end up missing low end torque as a daily driver.
-If your grille is in good condition just paint it, keep the chrome infiniti emblem (it snaps on separately to the grille).
-If your rear diff bushing shows or feels any sign of wear then move it to the top of the list as the highest priority item.
-Add the TransGo valve body upgrade to the upper part of your list.
-Make sure to get an UpRev tune after your go-fast parts are installed to get the most out of them.
Btw I really like how clean the trunk woofer install looks, whole car looks great, welcome aboard!

thank you...
I will check into air box...
diff bushing isn't leaking or cracked (yet) but I do wanna replace it
I've been reading a little about the TransGo valve body upgrade but the one tranny shop in my town wants a little over 700 to do it...
i'm not cheap but that seems a little high to me... plus when they did the rebuilt the tranny in my old explorer it failed and they had to redo it and tried to charge me again for the parts they had to replace....
once the weather is nice I'll try and find some guys in KC with G's that might be able to point me in the right direction for shops...
what's difference between UpRev tune and dyno tune? of do they need to be done at the same time?
thank you...

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
You've been given great advice from 2 of the most knowledgeable members on the forum already so I'll add just a couple of things. No flames here, you've done your homework obviously which is very refreshing for a change. The quest for power on our cars is elusive since Nissan did a really good job designing the motors to get most of the power available from the factory. Typical bolt-ons are overall a waste of money if you expect significant gains. The only way to make a substantial difference is to go FI and either supercharging or adding a turbo will cost you well over $10G to be done correctly. You might spend $3000 (which is parts only, if you're paying for labor up that number significantly) on headers, intake, exhaust, spacer, TB, HFC's, dyno tune etc. and gain maybe 30-35 HP which in our cars is really barely noticeable (not even a 20% increase). The G is a heavy girl, did you know the coupe is actually heavier than the sedan?
But a lot of people do this anyway, I was a victim of that process for years. You didn't mention a drop, any plans for that? Car looks great as is, your stereo install is clean af and I bet sounds great..You WILL probably get some hate for the rims but I'm one of the very few who likes chrome in certain applications, here's my sedan (err now girlfriend's lol):
The Transgo is a great addition and is well worth the cost if you plan to keep the car long term, it actually makes driving an auto very enjoyable. And to finish add a set of sway bars to your list (Motordyne of Hotchkis) as they'll completely change the driving dynamics of your ride. Welcome to the family, we hope you'll enjoy your stay however long that might be.

the pics are (in order) from Hwy 17 between Santa Cruz and San Jose, Jennings GP in Florida and Arroyo Seco in New Mexico...
KS has Heartland Park (HPT) in Topeka... but I've been to a lot of tracks and actually it's between Putnam Park and Miller Motorsports Park (MMP) just outside of Salt Lake City as to which one is my favorite...
I like the look of your gf's sedan I almost went that route and am now looking at possibly getting one for my daughter
Blue Dream
don't think I'm going to lower it any I like the way it looks as is...
appreciate the reality of the numbers.... wasn't paying attention to the fact that I was getting ready to drop 3K on upgrades for less than minimal gains..
looks like my priorities for upgrades are now in flux... lolz
airbox w/z-tube
exhaust
transgo
rear diff bushings
swaybars
***as for the chrome rims - I like being different...
***thanks to all for the warm welcome and (obviously needed) advice...
