Hi G35Drivers, I’m actually am no stranger to the VQ platform as I’ve owned a I35, G37 Coupe and three previous G35 Sedan’s two 03’s and 05 but I never had an opportunity to own a MT one until I got lucky winning one from the insurance auction last year I took the time to fix the suspension and tune up the VQ to get her to DD standards and so far I’ve been enjoying her.

Huh, car looks clean. I wonder why it was at an insurance auction?

It got hit on driver side, I had to replace plastic front core support, headlights, front compression rod, upper and lower control arms. I can’t argue for $600 I spend getting the unit originally I wanted a 1G XE10 IS300 Manual but even insurance auctions are competitive in getting these cars.

Flashbacks to when I owned one of those, I really liked that car, good on you for knowing how to do your own work.

My next step is looking into replacing the roof strips these seem to be pricey so I’m hoping to cop one from a wrecked sedan. Then suspension eventually might just get some Bilsteins as I don’t want to lower the car. Maybe later on a Coupe midpipe to give it a better sound as my bonestock FX35 sounds way better than my 6 Speed.

Back in high school when these were first released to the public along with the Z33 boy I feel in love with the design of these cars Nissan hit a home run with the Twin FM platform of the Z/G. I feel many of these JDM fanatics don’t really give enough credit but hey on the lightside there reasonably still attainable to buy still, have a strong aftermarket and a motor that’s alot more reliable than the BMW’s. I sense another 5 to 7 more years these kids will eventually realize how special this Twin platform really was.
