Hi everyone I live in CA and I got a 2005 g35 coupe and I found out that the catalytic on both are bad so I need to replace them but the original catalytic are pretty expensive what other options can I use? Can replaced them with a after market converter? and what kid? I know nissan and infiniti are compatible on parts? What can use from that

cheapest way is look on fb groups local to you, offer up, craigslist, and part outs. otherwise you can buy high flow cats but they wont allow you to pass emissions itll just clear a CEL light. you might get lucky, i practically gave my cats away before i left the country and now regret it haha

I've done a lot of reading over the last few days about Cat's and it seems that in Cali you need the OEM ones that are CARB certified or you won't pass.

I saw a pair on eBay for $300 (no returns on this set), but obviously unsure of the quality etc so don't buy them off my recommendation, just letting you know what they might go for worst case.

I'd definitely check Craigslist/Facebook/etc. and see if there are any You-Pull-It type places where you're at that might have a compatible G/Z first though (good luck finding Cat's on it, however).

Good luck man!

Living in Ca. you don't have any options, as you're aware! You could find someone selling used cats on our Marketplace, but they may be as worn as yours. Muffler shops here in Ca. sell Magnaflow cats that are CARB legal, that's what I'm running on my wife's Vette! Sure beats going the stealership! Make friends with our local muffler shop, that's your best bet if you're planning on keeping your G!
