Hey guys, a few months ago I bought my first car, an 06' g35x sedan with 168k kms on it. In the end, I was split between a 328i or the g35, but IMO the g looks better, seems to be more reliable, and overall performs better. I would've gotten the manual RWD if it came in AWD, but unfortunately, where I live AWD is mandatory or else you're getting lodged in the snow.
The only things that were done to the car was a magnaflow y-pipe back or catback exhaust? (not too sure) and I also noticed the fenders were already rolled. Exhaust doesn't sound too bad IMO
Anyways, I just ordered z1 HFCs, Plenum spacer, and Z-tube and was wondering what should be the next mod I should save up for (I'm a student so my budget is pretty tight). I still have to buy a summer wheel setup, and I was thinking about getting Tein S-tech lowering springs to run year-round. I was also looking into either a pcv delete or an oil catch can just to help with the common oil consumption issue. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Dropping the AWD sedanX is a challenge to maintain front wheel geometry and not eat up your tires rapidly. A severe drop can accelerate wear of the AWD components. Search and read a lot of threads from people that have done it successfully. Aftermarket parts are REALLY hard to come by for the sedanX! If you have frequent deep snows, I would think hard about dropping it. It's a car, not a plow.
Put Hotchkis adjustable sway bars for sedanX on your shopping list. No longer produced, they're very very rare, so you'll have to wait and work to find them. But they will transform the car's handling. Upgrade the end links at the same time if you find a set.
haha yeah I noted that the parts for the AWD version is really hard to find. I also never looked into sway bars but I did find some Hotchkis on z1 for the AWD. Thanks for the suggestions, ill look into the part you said about the front wheel geometry.
