where can i source this part for a 05 infiniti G35 coupe Rev addition Manual
i need a VCT Cover assembly but when i look on infinitiusa.com or z1motorsports.com they do not have the part im looking for, or are not responding
im told by my mechanic his source says the part is on backorder and has no price or shipping estimation and he hasnt heard a response either.
anyone know where i could get a new one so i dont install a used one and have the same issue.
any info is appreciated

 

Why do you need the cover, is yours cracked or something?

If you just need the exhaust magnet retarder you can replace just that component.

Typically I eBay replacement stuff like that.

 

im told nissan made the part specifically where i couldnt replace just the actuator. I had to buy the whole cover and actuator already installed,
I believe my mechanic told me at one point it was the retarder on the inside that was messing up but he doesnt order from ebay because if tis trash then its my money down the drain.

i tried sourcing the part from conceptzperformance.com and im allowed to order it but its on backorder as well and also has no shipping ETA.
they dont sell the retarder and cover without the sprocket;
but they dont have the sprocket, i assume i could use mine, but they are unable to sell the product that way
so i have to wait for japan to create the part for an 05 with 0% confirmation its in process.

 

I'm not aware of any NEW ones being made, I've always just sourced either a local pick-n-pull or eBay for stuff like that.

You can replace just the magnet clutch (and harness), pop the harness out of the grommet. You're probably not going to find JUST that component for sale though, I've always seen them sold as a set with the housing.

Whatever you do don't drop the magnet clutch...
