Hey guys, I'm new to G35 forums so please make this a good experience and don't belate me in case this is a dumb question, but I've got only a slight clue as to what may be causing this.

A few months ago, me and my dad took the whole front end of the motor off to redo the timing because we had to replace our water pump. Keep in mind the reason we had to replace the water pump was that the car completely overheated on the highway.(to the highest tick) to the point where it seized up or shut itself off for safety.
so, when we go to start the car for the first time after redoing the timing after it overheated, we now have this mysterious tick which could be caused by many things I've been brainstorming for the past few weeks
I think it's most likely we mightve calibrated one of the camshafts incorrectly (which we also messed with) or the timing chain in general we f*cked up.
we're pulling plenty of codes such as closed loop B1 and B2, HO2S1 bank 2, exhaust valve timing control b2 and HO2S1 heater bank 1
it could also be that something else broke in the engine while it overheated
the reason im so in depth with this post is because we've dumped so much $$$ and time into the car I don't want to go back in and do the work just to find out it wasn't it
the tick sounds like a very light fluttering sound which gets faster with engine RPMS, its loud enough to be heard from inside the cabin pretty clearly, but quiet enough that when you turn the AC on, you cant hear it anymore. the tick is not causing any vibration to the car and the tick was definitely not there before we did the timing work

so if there's anyone with good experience that knows what is up with our shitbox please tell!
