New G owner (w/pics)
Just picked up my new coupe yesterday. Before I get flamed for the laser red/wheat color combo (which seems to be rather unpopular), the '02 Saab Aero I traded in was also laser red, as is my company's logo. So it's not just the coolest ride I've ever owned, it's also a branding statement :-)
Good to be "on board" with you all! Looking forward to meeting fellow Boston-area owners in the coming months.

Laser Red: Flammable or not?

I've heard plenty about how red cars attract more speeding citations. I drove a laser red Saab Aero for 50K miles these past few years before trading up to my G35 6MT (which is *way* better). No tickets whatsoever, yet I pushed it over 100 more than a few times, and consistently (but with full awareness) drove over the limit. I always felt that I stood out on the highway, but kept my eyes open. The Infiniti salesman who had the good fortune of meeting me when I walked in to buy had done some research on that very subject (he said). He said the statistics are skewed by young drivers (I am no longer in that category). Maybe that's why I've managed to avoid tickets (knock on wood here). Not sure. I have never owned a radar detector - my view is they encourage reckless speeding and thoughts of invulnerability. Any thoughts?
