Any 06 owners run into this strange function ......

I'm loving my new '06 black/graphite 6 MT and feelin' really good about it's superior fit, finish and lack of any malfunctions. Well a few days ago I actually need access to rear seat from drivers side. I push the little button on the drivers side seat back and NUTHIN" HAPPENS! Geez, just when I thought my new baby was so perfect. To make along story short I had appointment for splashguard installs so upon arrival i mentioned seat bac prob to service guy. He cn't make it work but minutes later service deartment reports "It's working great ----everytime"..... Whaaaaaa? Ok I'll cut to finish. To operate seat-back function (drivers side only) you MUST pull handbrake FIRST.
Totally baffled dealer and it IS in 06 owners manual. So there you have it. Go figure, huh. Suppose it's some harebrained safety issue relating to knocking car out of gear or ......?
Anyhow, I hope this saves some new MT owner some frustration. Now back to loving my new ride!
