new 2005 g35 coupe

hello everybody,

a couple months ago, i (as in my parents) got me a 2005 g35 coupe, sunroof, splash guards, and trunk mat for 34,500 out the door (tax, license, etc. all included).

-tell me, was that a good price? if you ask me, i don't think so.

-i got a non-synthetic oil change at 600 miles just to keep things clean. i'm at 2000 now.

-i hear a rattling on the passenger side door sometimes, but i hear that's a common problem.

-i have an x50 radar detector, but because infiniti is so cheap and a powered mirror doesn't come standard, i don't know how i'm going to hardwire it.

thanks for your time.

Did the 05 not have a powered mirror?? My 06 does and that made installing the V1 a really quick job.

gfastgfurious,
Congrats on the new ride, and welcome to G35Driver.

You sure the rear view isn't powered? If not have the dealer look at it. The wiring must be there.. I know the optional mirror can be fitted. Check it out.
C.

for g coupes with a homelink or autodimming mirror, there's usually a black colored wire encasing type thing that comes out of the hole of the ceiling of the car where the ceiling foam thing meets the windshield, right above the mirror.

because mine is not homelink or autodimming, and it requires no power, there is no black wire encasing that comes out of that hole. theoretically though, i guess it's possible to find a way to get power by sticking my own wire up there, like an invisicord or something.

one noob mistake i made was i was going around peeling the factory plastic sticker thingies off the car. i came upon the stickers on the exterior side of the wheel wells, that face the front of the car because they stick out to the side. the sticker was thick and extra sticky, and it was hard for me to pull them off, but using all the strength in my body, i did. little did i know, that those things are protective stickers for the car. it's no wonder they put them on there, because now i'm getting rock hit marks in the exact spot the stickers were.

gfastgfurious, you should be able to wire the x50 into the map lights. If you want the homelink/dimming mirror, you can buy the exact product made by Gentex online.

i've hardwired it into the fuse box. i jammed it in with the actual fuse. it works, and the voltage is pretty good, but i'm going to have to find another way to do it soon.

Oh no on the side protective coating. You could get protective coating reinstalled there at a company that does clear bras/vinyl graphics and tints on cars.
