Relax a bit and enjoy your new car. Don't go and blow a gasket. In the meantime, do a bit of research and seek what options may or may not be available to you.

you should've considered at least a used g35.... or saved up at least 1/3 of the cost of the vehicle for downpayment.... bad decisions early in life will have subsequent ripples in your future financial state... i would try to give the car back asap even if it means losing 2-3k it's better than losing 40+k in the future, i hope you consider getting a degree.... maybe working for your family members is better who knows... dump the car ASAP!

You "needed" the car.. you "needed" a civic or something more affordable for a new 18yr old.. IMO.

Have fun with your new car...and car payments.
Hate to say it, but I agree w/ Real_G . Hopefully you can get out of it!

I see TONS of middle-aged to old men who drive that car because it "suits" them. i could care less about you 18 or 19 year old kids in school hating on me because i know, and many people on these boards know that it's not your place in society to buy such a car at such an early age. gawd...
Hi all,
I've been watching this forum for the last month because I am graduating from college in May and am interested in the G35c as my first car. It's a great car and I would love to own one. If you all posted a picture of your own car on this message board I have probably admired it.

On to my post:
Obviously jdmrsxs02 got a bad deal. At least give him some constructive criticism guys. Otherwise, why bother to post What is all this about know your place in society? Do you really have a problem with a young man owning a nice car? It shouldn't offend people that an 18 year old can lease a car that took others much longer to afford. If that is the case maybe I should "know my place" and not accept my last job offer for 60k+ in order to be like the rest of my graduating class...

Anyways, I hope everything works out for you jdmrsxs02.

Okay it's just me doing the negotiating (barely turned 18 and look really young) and I really needed the car THAT SAME DAY since I work in San Diego and didn't want to take moms car again so.......Put 3000 down-payments at 619 per month-car price 36,892! and buy out at end of lease would be another 20,000!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was budging the guy soooo much and he wouldn't go down. He started it at 38,000 and payments at 675 but i got it down a bit and even said I was going to walk out and he still DID NOT GO DOWN! Okay here's the math 619 x 42(months) = 25,998 + 3000 (down payment)=28,998 and buy out and end of lease is a bit over 20,000 I GOT SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO RIPPED OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I even checked on the website (build and price) and the car came out cheaper on buying and tons cheaper on leasing!!!!!!!!! WHAT CAN I DO! Yeah I know im stupid for rushing into it and not taking someone who knows about buying cars and all so yeah. ANY OPTIONS I HAVE????

P.S I'm loving the car sooooooooooo much, TONS OF POWER compared to my rsx-s and loving the luxury feel. My face is like this when i'm driving but when I think of the price it's like this lol. thanx
If you put it that way. just drive and drive and not think about it? lol jk...
I pretty much rushed a bit. Spent and extra 3000 on Extended Warranty, LO Jack, Road HAzard etc.

I also hope everything works out for him and hope he can back out or re-negotiate. I would have a lawyer check on the buyer's remorse clauses on a sale of a good in California and whether the UCC is adopted there which can afford him protection.

Just a couple things to respond to jay26th. If you've read most of the posts, they are mostly constructive criticism and hopefully have helped steer jdmrsxs02 in the right direction to remedy the problem. I think the multiple posts and contributions deserve a thanks. I believe you have attempted to parallell yourself - with a college education, prepared for the workforce to jdmrsxs02, who is presumably just out of High School and needing co-signors for his new lease. Your attempted age and education comparison and your salary comparison are outside the scope of his situation.

NO! He has to drive crap cars like most of us did for a first car!

Mine was a 1961 Mercury Meteor with a big two speed tranny!

My daughters was a 1984 Olds Vista Cruiser Wagon (God, she hated that car!)

You must pay your dues to drive!!!!

I dont think I was "ready" or mature enough to own/lease a 40K car when I was 18, but that was me.
Also as stated above, he had to get his Grandmother to co-sign, and it sounded like she didnt want to do it.
Then he comes back in here YELLING ALL THIS STUFF about making alot of money in 6 months and living with a guy that makes 25K in a week?? Why didnt HE co-sign? Posting that reply made me cringe.. he has what? 2-3 years driving experience? IMO 6MT G35 + young driver = danger (thats why his insurance premium is so high.. becuase he is a high risk) That is also why he would NEVER get financing for the car himself.
.

Nice!

But again, nobody knows EXACTLY what kind of deal this guy got until you crunch the lease numbers. It is very easy to manipulate them.

I did do my homework and all which is the part that gets me mad since I somewhat knew how much people were get the car for but I guess I was just excited or something. Another huge factor was my grandma didn't want to sign for me at all but she did, which is why I didn't have the option to go to ANY other dealer or have time to think about it, because her and my mom were rushing me like crazy which got me . But I guess I'll just keep the car I don't feel or have time to go through all the trouble. One last thing I would like to see if I can do would be to change the contract to BUY instead of LEASE??? Do you think thats possible to do asap?? I don't want to have to worry about miles and all the bs......lesson learned!
Tip for anyone or future reference:
I don't know if individual co-applicants with different credit/income numbers affect lease prices... but if its the same as buying:

negotiate all the details first and get it in writing (for buying its purchase price, fees, final out the door price). Then give your info/income/etc or other people's (who cosign) to check if you qualify and work from there.

That way you save the time of your co-signers who don't ahve to sit through negotiations, and you don't get marked as an easy sale because you repeatedly return attempting multiple times to get one thing that they know you want. Once you are marked as an easy sale, you lose a lot of negotiating power and walking away is less of a threat
