it's official, you just can't own anything nice anymore
I wasn't sure where to post this, but i guess closest to home works out. So as it turns out, you just can't own anything nice anymore. As a little background my household has 3 cars and 2 indoor parking spots. So basically whichever car gets driven the least sits outside, primarily because at night you have to hunt for parking spots. In this case the G sits outside (typically for a week). Being that we live in a gated community, you would think this is pretty much an after-thought. Sadly I found out yesterday that is not the case.
After getting home from work, I move some stuff out of the car for this weekends meet to be greeted by a nice 1.5' long keyed scratch on my passenger door. At this point I'm too depressed to be angry. This morning my wife calls the head of security to lodge a complaint, and as it turns out they know which car is ours. They know this because people (I'm guessing the household that I parked in front of) have been calling to complain about my car sitting in one spot for too long. Being however that they can not tell me who's been complaining, I essentially have no recourse and should probably expect more property damage going forward.

no you never want to do that, you might get caught. It much easier to get a can of spray paint remover, hold it down low, next to your side, and just walk around the sides of their car appearing that you are looking for something. I can say with definite certaintly it works very well.
Yeah that blows TK. I got immune to that stuff 6 weeks after I got my G after Diesel had to point out a ding on the pass door and ruin my day. That dude is always lookin. I feel ur pain.
You can see my past and present scars on Sunday. Oh btw, I guess you got dibbs on the 7424 Sunday......lol Phunny but not phunny. I'll bring mine too.

call the real cops, have them dust the car for fingerprints where it was keyed and then have them try to match it with poeple in your community, or at least whoever complained. If the real po-po get involved, maybe they'll give up the name.
confront the neighbors that complained.. they just may admit it to you. (like Jack in A few good men, "You're got damn right I ordered the code red!")
The cops wont waste their time with fingerprints...

Don't confront them, because if something happens to THEIR car, they'll blame you regardless of whether you did or did not have anything to do with it.
If you are pretty sure of who did it, simply damage THEIR car. After all, it seems that on one can tell anyone over there what's going on.
I'd just damage their property in return. However, if you are not sure of who did it, just park your car in that same spot again and keep an eye on it. Sooner or later whoever did this will be back for round two. Only this time, make sure you are armed...

that really sucks. it's too bad people can't be decent human beings, and just have asked you to move your car if needed. legally speaking, you have no recourse against your suspected neighbors, or the community management. however, i think you need to dole out some of your own justice.
g35lin - pics later. i'm aiming at doing the repair myself, at this point i have nothing else to lose. so i'll do a before and after at some point.
speedracerg35 - yeah i'm tempted to get my revenge, but with my luck at this point, i'll probably get caught :P
