Need non dealer service in Boston

I want to do a basic 30k, auto transmission service, but I'm not some idiot who pays 500 to remount tires, realign, air filter, etc..

Anyone know someone competent to do the service so I have a receipt to cover my *** with my extended INF warranty?

I see you are aware of that too. My boy told me they charged him 500.00 to look at his car and tell him he needed a wiper blade and two tires. What part of Boston are you from?

I am all over, NH to NYC, but anywhere boston proper or metrowest would be ideal.

You know, you can go to the dealer and tell them specifically what portion of the 30k "service package" you want them to do. They don't have to do it all, and it could save you some bucks. I skipped my 15k service, but told them to do the oil change and inspect the belts. They threw in a 3750 mile checkup for free, cause they're nice. Lubed my door hinges (and the doors needed it, I just didn't know), and all they charged me for was the $40 for the oil change. Infiniti of Norwood. Jeff, the service manager is pretty cool, and if you have special requests, he'll oblige.

Sorry I don't have any mechanics in the metrowest area to refer you to. I knew a good one, but he passed away last year.

Actually wait, Bonded Transmission in Framingham. He's a client and really good guy. Mike Hines is the owner, they've been in business for a long time. They're very honest, you'll get a fair shake with no gimmicks. Tell him Brian from T-Mobile sent you.

bad news about norwood, they canned the whole team. Jeff B is gone, Senor Jose is also gone. Whoever I spoke to today, at a half dozen INF/ NISS dealers sounded like clowns reading a script. I could tell them to do items a la carte, but I prefer to avoid the whole service advisor upsell scam now that my norwood boys are gone.....

Oh, you're a regular at Norwood too? I've got my oil changed there twice, last time was in October. The whole service team is gone? How'd you find this out?

i called today, and some chickee had no response to my " I loved the team of Jeff and Jose, what happened??" she just said, how can i help you? It is funny how they never have a response, all bitter like that. If they expect me to just forget my multi year experience with those guys and even bother meeting the new team, fat chance. The owner of the franchise is a good guy, young, totally casual, I have seen him blast some irate customers who got loud and rude.

There was this beligerant blue collar guy with a boston accent who came in with a FX35 and was totally paranoid over his car, and accusatory as well over a few measly bucks. The sad thing about Infiniti owners ( at least at norwood) is that you get a buyer who wants cheap maintenance and prestige without the BMW/Benz prices.

I remember how Jeff would get brand new loaner cars back that had been driven for tons of mileage in very few days. Funny how some mid 1990s G20 owner takes a new G35x loaner out for a week when his car is in for basic service. Some people really know how to abuse freebies

Go check out Herb Chambers Boston. Talk to Nigel the service manager he is cool. I really don't like the dealerships idea of service and repair costs. 700.00 to change out some fluids and rotate some tires is a bit steep but I guess that's the price you pay to drive something nice. Also give Auto Design Haus a call. They are located in Brighton ask to speak to Tyrone or Neema.

No offense man, but Herb Chambers Infiniti Service Dept. blows!!!! I took my car there a year ago for warranty work & they could never get it right. Service advisors there are incompetent too. They f'd up so bad, in the end, I was so tired of having to bring my car back again & again, I had them driving to my workplace (40 minutes east of Boston) and bringing me the loaner & then bringing my car back at the end of day. I gave up & now go to Kelly Infiniti in Danvers.

I tried Herb back in the late 90s with an I30. They were new then, and decent. I was very happy at Norwood, but now I will just go with either Norwood for warranty stuff and any nissan place for basic service that any 350z tech can do just as well.

Well went and dropped the car off at Herb Chambers. Real easy going got my loaner car and was out of there in 10 minutes. They gave me an FX truck to drive around in. Problems with my car are the seat and the window is leaving a small grease spot. Service manager told me that it was some clips and it should be ready either today or tomorrow.
