Can one of you New Yorkers tell me the name of the island that the Statue of Liberty sits on please. I was always under the impression that she sat on Ellis Island.
I understand that the tours inside your Fair Lady have stopped now after 9/11--- Will they resume?
Also is this the island that immigrants used to land at and enter the US?

ellis island is the entry/registration point that you're talking about. tours to liberty island are still running. i'm still not sure they are letting people up the statue tho.
