Anyone try the "tinted windows down" method for inspection?

I'm up for inspection this month and I'm debating if I should go to a private place or state location because of my tinted windows. I only have 35% and have always felt that they were too light. So I kind of want to see what will happen if I take it to a state location with the windows down. Cause if they fail me, no big deal, I'll just remove the tint and get 25% after I pass.

At the same time, then I'll be forced to take care of things right away, whereas if I go to a private place, I can get my tints redone at my leisure.

You will be okay with 35% tint. I took my car to the infiniti dealership and they passed me with no issues

Puff.....

I tried that approach many years ago with my RX7. They nailed me at the state inspection station.....they made me roll up the windows..........

I then tried another time with only the drivers side down, so it didn't look too dark, and I got away with it.....

I think it all depends on the person you get.

After that, I just went to a private inspection place, they were more concerned with the ball joints and brakes/rotors and emissions .....I never put a front plate on my RX 7, and I never got hassled in any of the Inspections centers......go figure

Come to Missouri. They've changed our inspections and all they look at now is whether the lights work. No brakes, tires, windshield wipers. Nothing. Price is still the same. Big waste of time.

Hey afro is this your first inspection since you bought the car because doesn't Jersey has the new car inspection exemption?

Anyway, I dunno if the window down trick will work at the DMV especially in the wintertime but, if I were you go to a private shop.

HHAHAH! Apparently, the windows down method doesn't work at the Paramus station. They also failed me for my white LED license plate bulbs, claiming they were blue.
