Sobriety Check Point

just drove past a MASS STATE POLICE SOBRIETY check point at the end of wollaston beach, heading towards RT 3A. they had the last parking lot set up with a big *** mobile crime scene truck and ALOT OF STATEYs standing around the parking lot. with 1 state cop on the main road directing every other car in to the parking lot to be checked. wow they are going to catch alot of ***** tonight.
i use to see them set up at the car wash . pulling people over as they got off RT 93 heading in to quincy.

honestly it only takes 1 beer to get a dui of course this varies with peoples weight and hieght, but normally its around 1 beer and its a shame, but it does cut down on the people who get dui's frequenly i guess

i hate to have to take a sobreity test even when sober.

i am asian and if i drink 1 drink,my face will turn red.
a red face and not being able to do the balance test = DUI.

I heard about this one, friend of a friend drove through after having a few drinks, made it out fine. Technically they have to provide a turnoff before you hit the check point though, otherwise it's an unlawful search (this may not be true in Mass since it's a communist country without individual rights though, not really sure). There is nothing illegal about turning off to avoid a checkpoint, but again we forfeited our constitutional rights by living in Mass, so it wouldn't surprise me if they'd get you anyway. My secret- always get someone else to drive.

Same up here by me, They block off 1 way on RT.114 heading towards the NorthShore Mall from Middleton or RT.1 / RT.95 and theres nowhere to go as there is a island seperating this section of RT.114

o well, this is another reason i stay in the shadow's & back roads

Any confirmation on the illegality of this in Mass? I thought it was a federal issue.

they set it up. so that YOU CANT turn off. plus there are sooooo many statey's that making a u turn will probably trigger a cop to come after you. this is not a couple of cops setting up a road block. it looks like THE WHOLE barracks is there. with the mobile crime scene truck and many many spot lights to light up the immediate area with big flashing sign "SOBRIETY CHECK POINT".
