Heated seats question.

For those of you living in the North East, or where temperatures are in the low 30's or lower, how long does it take for your heated seats to warm up.

I noticed in my coupe that when I start my car in the morning, I don't start feeling any heat from the seats till the climates controls have already started to warm up. Also this is with it set to the 'High' setting.

Maybe, something's wrong with mine. But if isn't it's a bit annoying because it seems to defeat the purpose. If I'm sitting in a cold car waiting for the climate controls to warm up, what's the point of having heated seats if the don't heat up till the climate controls have already started to warm up. Once the climate controls are warmed up, I don't need the heated seat on anymore.

However once the seats dowarm up they are very warm, but I noticed after awhile I don't feel it on anymore. Does anyone know if the heated seats automatically turn off by themselves.

Mine seem to take about 5 nminutes to get good and toasty. And yes, there is a thermostat that cuts the heat on and off according the low or high setting.

My Maxima's seats heat up quickly even in the summer when I inadvertantly hit the switch,no thermostat there. The G's seats heat up until a certain temperature is reached.

I agree with Bigel, and I work for a CNY Infiniti dealer. the seats take a few minutes to warm up, but if you turn on your vehicle a few minutes before you get in it, that wouldnt be a problem ,everyone has told me even before I started selling cars, let your car warm up for at least 2 to 3 minutes before driving (heated seats not included at that time) so the car will perform and work properly, even in the summer.

Re: Heated seats question.

I noticed the same exact thing- I have had cars before with heated seats and they heat up right away. This car takes forever to heat up. You have to wait until the tempature gets hot before they becom effective.

Re: Heated seats question.

You are exactly right. I wonder about this all the time. It seems to me the seats warm up after the engine gets warm after i have been driving for a while. My wife has an X5, now those seats work great!! 3 temperature settings, and those seats really warm your buns. Much warmer and the entire seat seems to be uniformly warmer. Better distribution, but this is a first year car. We have to expect some glitches. I still my G!
