2 weeks I got pulled over at midnight in Bethesda. The trooper said my tint was below the limit of 35% (he didn't use any instruments or anything--just looked at it..which is BS i think)

I go to the MVA today and the cop inspects my windows and the device says only 33.7% light can go through----yet he still fails me! He refuses to take into account, dirt on the windows and a margin of error on the device. I refuse to believe it is 100% accurate. The place where i got my windows tinted says it is law that if the devices reads 33%, then I can pass.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Is the tint ppl right, or am I going to be forced to remove my tint? Thanks.

 

a lot of people misunderstand that the OEM windows are 0% tinted,,, which is WRONG!! they are slightly tinted from factory. It's really hard to tell but they are. MB's and BMW are more tinted(light green) than any other brand. anyway....did you receive fix it ticket?!!! Then u Must PASS otherwise MVA will suspend your liscense,.... If you take it to the court the Judge will only see the FACT then your excuse.... which is why I didn't even bother doing tint on my ride...
