Is it legal to have tinted windows in New Jersey?

Yes they are. The car will not pass inspection if you take it to the DMW. You have a good chance of passing inspection if you take it to your local Gas Station. What I do is lower my window whenever I see a cop. Rain or shine.

lower both window? you are crazy, man. I would not lower one inch of mine in rain. the beautiful body and window curve let too much water in if the window is only slightly open.
