Looks damn good, Brian! I need you to look at my G someday. The previous owner neglected the finish pretty badly. I polished out alot of stuff, but there are a few spots on the top surfaces I can't seem to remove, like really bad acid rain stains.

I'm always in the area if any of you need diagnosis, product recommendation or procedure suggestion. If it's a small area or pressing defect we are dealing with I will probably fix it for you if you bring it to me.

That was the main issue with the Quattroporte, the horizontal panels were covered in mineral deposits and acid rain etching, you can either spend a few weeks chasing down to the bottom of them, or you can sand them out, and make damn sure those contaminants don't have the opportunity to embed themselves in your paint system again.

^ Thanks, Brian. I definately want to you to look at it an advise which way to go. There is definately some etching in the paint from sap, bird poop, and acid rain. I have used Turtle Wax polishing compound on a 9" random orbital buffer. Took alot off, but I know it is a very conservative approach. I am alway afraid of burning through the clear or paint. Never thought you could sand down an OEM finish. Wow!

It's not ideal with all paint jobs, some manufacturers barely leave you with any material, higher quality cars normally equal higher quality paint, and more of it. Completely removing orange peel from most OEM finishes isn't the best idea depending on the paint system. My Trailblazer had such horrendous OEM orange peel that I sanded it out with no ill effects. If the clear was compromised I would have known within six months, it still looks great 5 years later.

Use a leaf blower to dry your car.
