Unless you just want the car slammed I wouldn't spend the extra time or money on them.

Everyone that has done springs with about 1" drop with front upper control arms, rear links and toe bolts has been happy with the ride. And they usually don't wear the tires any more than stock.just my $.02
Alright Im new to this car and am still trying to find out what most people go with and what not, so advice taken. What are the most popular springs used for a good drop and dd use. I went from an s2000 to this and I never even considered springs for it, most people go with coilovers on those.

joe, the majority of the ppl here go with springs due to the fact what Pete just posted. I am on Tein S Tech, 1.2"front and .9" rear and of course, the settle effect. As you have seen by now, the roads around here suck, the slammed effect looks good but for DD purposes, a no no.
Plus, im on 20" rims......20x9.5+17 255/30/20 and 20x10.5+17 285/30/20.

Some of the other guys go with Eibach prokit with just a little more of a drop. If you come out tomorrow then you can gauge what you like or dont.

Tein S techs or Eibach Pros seem to drop about the same and work very well with stock shocks/springs. Both companies did an excellent job in the engineering.

The front of a G has a coil over set up and when you install coilovers on a G the rear springs don't mount over the spring anyway. Coilovers follow the factory arrangement anyway. You can adjust the height of the car but as you do that you are changing how much the spring is compressed(it's height) and therefore changing it's static spring rate. So if you adjust too much you're taking the spring out of it's engineered compression/rebound rates from static height. So it may look and feel like it's wonderful but actually perform worse than stock.

And then if you adjust too much you're taking the shock out of it's "sweet spot" even if it is a DA. Chris Alston wrote a great deal about this in one of his set up books.

I know a guy who tracks a car with Eibach Sportlines with swaybars and it pulls better lap times and carries higher corner speeds than most Gs/Zs that have a ton of money in their set up.

WOW that was long winded.
