Re: GEICO Insurance

Geico supports some radical left groups. I'll never toss a DIME to Geico. They can stick their lizard where the sun don't shine.

On the business end of it, they tried to milk me (and my perfect driving record) for $2700, which was $700 more than State Farm (my new insurance co) and $200 more than my then current Traveler's Ins. Their logic? I hadn't been insured by Geico before. WTF does that mean? So I took my $2000/year insurance policy and ran to State Farm.

Re: GEICO Insurance

Geico is designed for "perfect" drivers with no claims.

You should always use a local Independent Insurance Agent to negotiate with the carriers for you. In case of a claim an agent can fight for you. if you use a direct writer, the agent will not fight their own company on your behalf.

In most situations "you get what you pay for"

Re: GEICO Insurance

I pay $2100 to Palisades for the coupe only.

I thought that was too much so I recently got a quote from AMICA which had a reputation for fairness. They asked $2800.

Only blemish on my record in five years is a disobeying sign (no left turn 4-7) in NY almost 4 years ago. Very unfair but that's not relevant here. No at fault accidents in more then 25 years.

I was insured with GEICO in NY before I moved to Jersey a couple years ago.

I only had two glass claims against them (one side window for vandalism and a windshield damaged by a high wind propelled flying sign on the Belt Parkway.

In both instances (Glass was 100% covered) I simply drove to a recommended shop and it was replaced without me doing a thing or filling out a form.

Waiting to get feedback from others on their quotes from GEICO in NJ and how it compares to their current.

If nothing else the additional new competition should help keep prices down.

Re: GEICO Insurance

I read it in Home News that you can go to their website to get a quote. There must be money to be made in Jersey now or else Geoco would not have come back. I think I will get a quote from them. I am sick of AIG. I get an increase every six months and never had a ticket or claim. I have my home insured with AIG also. When AIG started to insure auto a few years ago in Jersey, they had the best rates, not anymore.

Re: GEICO Insurance

GEICO was over $1000 cheaper for me with lower deductibles and higher coverage than any other car insurance and I tried around 10 other companies including State Farm, Progressive, The Hartford, etc etc.

I guess it depends on your history, I have a clean record and I am in CT.
