I don't understand what you mean that you did not like what you found. What did you find?
Mercury is a public company traded on the NYSE, with an A+ rating and they insurance in Florida, Georgia, Texas, Illinois, Oklahoma, New York, Virginia, New Jersey and Arizona.
Is their claims dept. a hassle to work with?

Their rating is for their financial strength.
I read too many posts from people who were very unhappy with their claims service.
That in and of itself does not mean much as people complain about all companies but here there was a strange similarity in all the complaints. As if the company had a rote response to claims to the detriment of claimants.
All I can tell you is that I was paying a lot for insurance , before GEICO, and was very anxious to switch, but decided for myself that Mercury was not a chance I was willing to take.
Maybe, they are fine.
I now regret I didn't go with my first instinct and not posted. Sorry.
