Well let me start off by saying, i love my car again lol... Ever since the first day i wanted to mod the hell out of it, which i have done and loved every moment of it, but i didnt realize how dangerous it is!! And i dont understand how people could also say bolt ons dont do anything for our car's, it totally TRANSFORMED my car into a beast, like seriously and im the one too always complain about my car being slow, it isnt the fastest car but it sure is quick!

Now it was raining all day, but it stopped now or its drizzling a little bit still, but anyway its wet out! So i went to pick up some dinner, and the car feels amazing right now, cool weather. Anyway on the way home, with VDC off i thought there would be NO WAY to spin my tires from a roll or while im driving by stomping ont he pedal but i was wrong, and i thought that especially because i have my heavy, wide a$$ 19's with 275 width tires in the rear, but coming off a light i wasnt going for a high speed thing or anything cause its wet but i punched the throttle quick and the car was spinning like crazy, in a straight line but spinning i was like goddd dam, so then im going like 30-40 and im in second gear, i go to make the light and i stomp the ghas again and my tires are just spinning and i was like OMG this is very dangerous LOL... So then i pass a Vette and he meets up with me at the light, hes staring at it and doesnt say anything but then smiles and give me a thumbs up, so we are coming off the light and i punch it going over the white slippery strip of paint where you stop before for the light, and my tires are spinning and spinning going nuts and im bouncing off the rev limiter, i did not intend for that to happen at all but damm was it slippery, we come up tot he next lighjt, i didnt get past like 10 mph lol, and hes like wowwww, you must have somethign serious in your car to be spinning like that even int he rain, by the sound of your car i think you could "murder" my car, i started laughing and i was like man i WISH i had something serious underneath the hood, and sorry but you will eat me up and spit me out, he started laughing!! He was like how are you spinning with wide tires and in a family sedan, i was like LOL i have some work done but im surprised myself, its pretty quickt hough and we went at it this time with VDC on liek for 2 seconds and my car bogged from spinning and i was laughing, now my tires are practically brand new so they arent bald, and then i drifted while spinning with VDC on?!?!? Man it was scary, i did the last one on a wide open road with no cars or curbs or anything so i wouldnt hit anything, but now i will always drive with VDC on in the rain, its some scary stuff and this winter? Man im getting so scared now I cant even imagine what going FI is like in this car, i think i would kill myself sorry to say, going slow and by accident of course, man!!

Martin,

Please try to separate your posts into separate paragraphs. You're a loyal G owner and a good member of this forum but I honestly can't slog through your long, rambling, 1-paragraph posts. Please don't take any offense..

Sounds like my Z06 on a DRY road LOL. Its completely nuts - if I turn off the traction control, I can't even use 3/4 throttle in first gear without spinning, even from a roll, if I punch it in 2nd gear from a roll it will spin to the point that the rear of the car will kick out completely sideways, and the rear tires will spin kicking the car out sideways while shifting from 3rd to 4th at WOT at over 90 MPH. Fun, but definitely dangerous.

Rain? forgettabout it. I try to avoid driving the Z06 in the rain, but if I do get caught in the rain, you'll find me in the right lane going no faster than 50 MPH, sweaty death grip on the wheel, reciting my Hail Mary's over and over again, and swearing that I'll never drive this car in the rain again. Think of driving the G in snow and ice on Pilot Sports, and you'll get the idea of what the Z06 is like in the rain. I wouldn't even consider turning traction control and VDC off in the rain.

Z06 man WHATTT?!?!/ I had no idea it was that bad, but ive seen many videos of no traction in that car, i was thinking man i want one, but i think i better get my driving experience up ALOT like a year of driving lessons LOL before getting into that car, my pilot sports are like slicks in the rain, arent that good and snow? Man i dont know what im going to do being lowered with a lot of extra power and no snow tires

Well, my car isn't stock - I've got about 450hp at the crank now. Also, these traction problems are with cooler temperatures (below 75 F), when the Eagle F1 Supercars seem to lose a lot of their traction. I've noticed these tires are VERY temperature sensitive. When they get hot, and 80F and above, they get very sticky and much better traction. Especially on a prepared track that is hot, then they stick really well. But with cooler weather on the street, they don't launch nearly as well. It's a bit odd, because they seem to retain most of their lateral grip (cornering) no matter what the temp, but acceleration grip goes down with temperature.

The Z06 is a very forgiving car at the limit, but the power it has and it's light weight can easily overpower the rear tires in an instant, especially while turning. The stability control system in the Z06 is excellent, and has saved my butt many times. Having said that, you can get into a world of trouble with this car in a heartbeat. Put it this way: there is no way in hell I would let a teenager drive it. If I had this car as a teen, I would be dead for sure.
