. Since I'm removing the whole intake system, I really don't have anything in the way to do something I wanted to do for a while. Paint my Valve Covers.
Which leads me to my problem. I don't have a place to do the work. I would go to the Auto Hobby shop on base, but I can't paint there, or anywhere else on the base. I asked a few co-workers, and friends but they all have plans for the weekend. (Fishing, Visit the Mistress, 2nd Job, Out of Town). If anybody could help, I would appreciate it very much
, if not I guess I'm sucking.

Like Frank say the rear arms aren't hard to do, but the toe bolts are a different story. It just easy to f^uK up your frame. Now About getting on base, the hobby shop WILL NOT let you work on your car without you have a military ID. So even if he could get your car on base, they(Hobby Shop) wouldn't let your dad check-in for you.Originally Posted by VA 04 g35

So since I was removing my Strut Bar, MREV2, and 5/16 Spacer to get powercoated, I thought it would be a perfect time to paint my valve covers, something that I wanted to do for a while. The uninstall was flawless, and the painting was flawless except on the front I leave unpainted. I thought it would be covered by the back of the timing cover, which it's not. (#1) When I was putting the in the valve covers back in some of the wire hardnesses brackets scape the paint off . (#2) On the left side on the engine, there are too many things way. The main engine hardness with bracket, which does not move. The coil pact hardnesses with bracket, the fuel regulator and hard lines. (#3)The bottom lower valve cover bolt with a pain to put back in. I must have dropped that bolt more than 10 times. (#4) I somehow loss a valve cover bolt. (#5) After I got everything back on, I started the car, and checked for leaks, I see none. However as soon as I turn the car off, I seen white smoke....oil leak. I look again, and I see oil coming from the bottom of left valve cover. (#6) Take everything off again. (#7) Spend 30 minutes trying to get the valve cover gasket to stay on while I'll put the valve cover back on. (#8) After I got everything back on, I start the car again, but now my RPM's are all over the place. (3000->2000->1000->500->2000->300->3000, etc). I got a vacuum leak somewhere. After looking over everything again, I notice I left two vacuum hoses off, which must be the cause. (#9) I start the car again, and the same thing, my RPM's are all over the place again. So I take off the upper Plenum, and the back of seal was slightly bent in the lower plenum. Put everything on for the 3rd time, and reset the ECU. I started the car again and everything was fine.Originally Posted by citymunky
