My T1-S were great in the rain. drove up to boston last weekend when it started to "MONSOON" and not one issue or worry about traction

stock brakes, 19oem, potenza stock tires.

I definitely concur with the Toyo performance. I have the Stock 18" and could not get the T1-S which I had on my last car and loved the performance. Fortunately I was able to hold out for the T1-R (Almost bought the BF KDW2s but STS had a $100 rebate on the Toyos) and they performed flawlesly, no slip at start-up, excellent and stable at full highway speed.

I did not encounter the same brake problem, though. I replaced my front pads on the Brembos with the Hawks but still have to take the OEMs out of the rear. I will say that I so not think I had any situations where I had to stop fast but it was a whole week so there must have been a situation where I had to stop fast. I will definitely have to keep a closer eye on their performance. Did you have the same amount of pedal pressure as usual? How old is your brake fluid? Do you still have the OEM Discs?

Pedal pressure didn't change. Just got zero response from the brakes until I floored the pedal. Brake fluid is maybe 5 months old, using DOT 4. I also have brembo slotted rotors.

But this definitely is an issue with those pads. After researching my next brake pad purchase, I found it was a common trend that the HPS do indeed suck in the wet and cold. This has me a bit concerned for the upcoming winter.

Yeah, these pads take a little more effort to stop in 'lesser' rain. In the rain that we had, I had a enlightening experience with them. Almost rear ended someone. Then I started doing what the new BMW's do and press on the brakes every once in a while to keep them dry and warm. Didn't have a problem then. I also just increased my following distance and started to put my foot on the brake pedal lightly when I knew I was going to have to stop. WHen I almost rear ended someone, I stepped on the brakes HARD and the car stopped quickly, except that they made this horrible grinding noise that shook the whole car. I am assuming it was the water between the pad and the rotor that was making the pad jump all over. In extreme situations (hard stops) they still stop fast, but need a lot more pressure!
