I did my first one at 1.5k just to clean out the initial break in shavings.. and will be doing another one at 30k.. i believe 30k is the interval that you need to change it according to the manual.

30K sounds right for an Auto.
Anyone know how many miles for a manual?

I did mine at 60k...It wasn't that bad...but it should have been changed maybe a bit earlier. 30k-40k seems about right. I ordered a case of nissan matic-j fluid online..($95 for a case of 12) and took it to a good tranny shop to do a drain, clean out torque converter and pan for about $120 in labor/shop parts. All in all $215 for a really good tranny cleaning/flush.

Thanx. My 06 maintenance manual says nothing about service intervals on the 6mt gearbox.

also at 30K, pretty much all fluids should be replaced every 30k.

Yes, it is 30k for the differential also. Changing these gear lubes out with high quality synthetic lubes is a good idea in general. It's even better you change the fluids after about 3k which is when most of the break in for the tranny (6mt) and diff are complete. An initial change is supposed to have a dramatic effect on longevity of those components as I've read in several journals.

Agree with everything said except the synthethic choice for the 6mt box.
I've read many comments/experiences that the 6mt's servos do not agree with synth, meaning (100%) synth. Shifting became notchier and harder requiring even closer rev matching. Some synth blends and good 'ol dino base were the best to use and depending on the brand, (can't remember which brand right now) had the most sucessful improvements as far as the servos were concerned.

I'm the local maintenance ***** and I know I've put these lubes (Amsoil SVG and Amsoil MTG) into a lot of Gs and nothing but positive feedback about 'em. I think a lot of people end-up using the wrong type of gear lubes becuase what's specified for the 6mt isn't readily available at the shop. Once again, I've been using the CORRECT synth lubes for the G for a while now with no complaints from anyone whatsoever. Also, the synth gear lubes have extended life and offer better all around protection - particularly because of their resistance to shearing in these high pressure gear boxes.

Okay...I don't doubt what you'r saying. And perhaps they were using the wrong type of synth.
The threads I had read pertained exclusively to the 6mt's shifting problems.
I'll go back in my archives to see which synth types didn't work well.
Thanx for your reference of what type you have had success with.

Two that come to mind that had worked well were GM Synchromesh FM (semi synth blend) and Redline MTL.
Now Amsoil SVG and Amsoil MTG I will make note of being very good choices, thanx to you.

Just want to clear up that the MTG is for the tranny and SVG is for the Diff.
