I checked all those places and they all want around $300 to install springs. Does anyone have any other recommendation as to a place that can to the install at a more reasonable price.

I've been reading on the forums that the going rate should be about $100 but I have yet to find such a place.

Please, I'm willing to travel anywhere in the Bay Area, if anyone as a place to recommend.

The going rate is nowhere near $100. As a shop owner our book time for the install is 4 hours so depending on the hourly rate you can see how it gets up there. We try to remain competitive as well so for suspension installs we charge $225 w/ a free adjustment or replacement later. Most shops in the bay area are becoming more consistent to staying closer to the books as we all have employees to take care of and families to feed. Thanks.

Thanks again, it's much apreciated......

Yah i found out the hard way. I'd stick w/ a shop that just does springs/alightments in house like Auto Innovations.

Had my car at Zcar and AutoRnd for springs/alightment...and wasnt pleased w/ either. Both shops dont do alignment in-house...autoRnd ships out the work to autoinnovations. Zcar to another alignment shop in SB.

$225 on the books with what amounts to a warranty with the adjustment/replacement isn't bad at all. but 4 hours is pretty dang long for a spring install.... sways + springs took less than an hour on my car.

In Jeff's defense, maybe they do an alignment and camber readings in that allotted time. I mean, how was your alignment after your spring install/drop??
2Vision Racing I believe, specialize in racing suspension and set-ups. Jeff's not gonna let your G roll out the door without everything in check and correctly adjusted within your suspension adjustable limits.

Jeff...chime in and correct me if I'm wrong.

4 hours is just the recommended book time. We certainly don't do it less than an hour as we take our time and make sure every small detail is followed, careful removal of the wheels is a start (don't want to mess up anybody's Volks now) and proper lifting of the car (don't like damaged side skirts). Believe it or not I have seen these issues from our customers stopping by...
As far as alignments... well we as well no longer do alignments in-house. Honestly it is a cost issue. It became really hard to compete with Big-O down the street from us and they have newer equipment (in-ground setup) and they give us better prices for our customers than we could ever give by keeping it. So we went with the better solution for our customers and so far have had no complaints!
But yes we are in the business of making happy enthusiasts happier and we pamper your car as if it was our own... and ours are not too shabby!

Sooo...sounds like an alignment is included, as I thought, yes/no? So what if it's farmed out elsewhere. Cost to purchase and maintain every piece of 'state of the art' equip. can be ill-cost effective for any performance shop.
Still an excellent price regardless, to have it done carefully, correct and not damage anything. That's worth its weight in Gold these days.

Our cost for alignments are an additional $75 for 4-wheel. In W.C. we have a great relationship with Big'O.. they scratch my back a lot so we send over this business to them. Hope this makes sense and it is guaranteed to your liking.

Thanks for supporting local business regardless. We are only here to help you.

Regarding wheels, I can definitely see some SF-Winnings in your near future!
