I get Amsoil at wholesale $$...perferred customer status. Hella cheaper than retail.
My Napa carries Royal Purple and they want $10.xx per quart

Yup...heard/read if you have one of those bad VQ's that's drinking oil, you don't want to even run synth at all. It makes the consumption even worse.

I know the butt dyno is generally meaningless, but I do like the way the engine is doing now with the Amsoil 2000. Not enough miles yet to be sure and it may be the cooler weather but it seems more responsive.

It'll be interesting to see if the guy still has consumption problems with the different oil.

Anyone else in the Bay Area have any luck with purchasing GC 0w-30 locally? The autozones Ive checked are out...

Also, how much does Amsoil 2000 run per quart? Im going to compare prices tomorrow

Check on the Amsoil site. Also one of the Amsoil people on BITOG recommended to me to use the ASL 5W-30 next time instead of the Series 2000 unless the car is getting a lot of highway miles, plus the ASL is cheaper than the TSO. That said, I think either is a great pure synthetic. See which one your car likes best.

My car does seem to be running a little easier and a bit quicker with the Series 2000 than it did with the Mobile 1.
