Or else you could stay at the back of the pack and pick up all of us who get lost along the drive

I have been meaning to address your "Back up" status. I haven't contacted Shane about my thoughts, yet . . . But why not do so in the open forum.
Since you are very familiar with the SC route, I thought it would be an excellent idea to simply designate you as a group leader, period. By having an additional group of cars, I believe the said will afford for a better driving experience and much less confusion and headache for all involved. I think that as a formal group leader, you will be quite a welcome addition to the run.
Shane and to the rest of the Group Leaders and everyone else, for that matter . . . I do have one outstanding concern, at this moment, which has been bothering me since our last SC dry run. That said concern has to do with the 2nd staging area, which is noted as the "Vista Point."
My concerns and thoughts are as follows: 1) That particular location was definitely a LE spotting point/speed trap that day. 2) That location is ill equipped to handle some 40 cars in an orderly fashion. Keep in mind that all of us will need to cross over the yellow paint to gain entry and once again upon exiting. The latter creates a safety concern for me when considering the number of cars and people involved in this run. 3). Relating to the previous . . . Sharing this spot with other cars and people will definitely create some sort of grid lock and potentially some hard feelings. 4) We will all be packed into one tight space and be "Easy Pickings" for any curious LE, which may happen upon us that day.
As with all of the previous runs, I have always wanted everyone to have and share in an excellent experience, which I trust we all have had in the past . . . And as such, I am extremely weary/cautious of potentially compromising situations. LOL . . . I am known as the "Limit Our Liability Guy" at work and for good reason(s).
What are your thoughts?

We don't need to give LE anything to find fault with.
( I was one of the cars that turned around the last run. Not fun.)

Also Shane said for me to expect to lead a group, so I was j/k around with you about the back-up thing. Sorry, I know it's time to get serious , but I hope we don't drain all the fun out of the event by over stressing to much.
Please PM me with the other GL if there is route discussions/changes. Paul.

Shane had mentioned earlier on in this thread (I think ), on being flexible to the group-leaders on making the decision to stop there or push on to the location that Mike and I had pulled over to wait for the rest of you to catch up at the dry run.
I was planning on pushing past Vista Point and pulling off the shoulder just before the stop sign (again...where Mike and I had pulled over to wait).
I think this would be a safer place to stage and allow us to get back onto the drive easier (no double lines to cross).
I don't feel like meeting any LE during this run unless they are doing the run with us ....I will even be putting on my front plate for the first time for this run.........maybe?

Also everybody... a couple of my thoughts ... DONT forget your front plates. Also There will be 2 small towns we will be driving through... keep it cool through there. One of the town has a post for local L.E.. Chances are we will have wet pavement lets all get home safe and pick our spots for speed!
