Well, in the best interest of all, I think that it is quite safe to say that we will most likely bypass the said staging area, if not for one or all of the previously mentioned concerns and/or issues. Based on what I am reading, it appears to be a prudent idea to either look for an alternative intermediate staging/break area or simply skip the said all together.

Shane! Where are you, Big Guy?

Andy I agree with you and we have run into some of these issues in the past runs we have done, there have been times when we have had to many cars (dare I say it) where we have not been able to park altogether, we def. need to find better places to pull over and make sure everyone can stay together.

On a side note I hope we do not over analyse the meets as it does take away most of the fun, I have a feeling that due to more and more presence of the LE lately that we may be moving towards more of a BBQ type of event which is what we do on other forums.

Hopefully everything will work out fine including the weather

I think everything will work out for the best as long as everyone is mature about the whole thing and courteous towards everyone else on the road.
I mean the G is a luxurious car, those punk kids who smash on it everywere and can't control their speed; Z's mostly and SRT-4's.

I concour on the topic of skipping the point, make it into the first small town and re-sub-gruop if necessary and then head in to the final spot for lunch.

As I have mentioned to you at last dry run, the idea of you or someone being a “back up” leader was, just in case of other leader didn’t show up or we have more cars than we expected, I wont be screamibling to find an leader on the day of the meet to fill that roll, because you been on the route twice already and unlike the leaders that I had to ask last meet on the spot, I can just simply point to you and be done with it . Also, this way, group leader knows if he/she isn’t there? Someone who is competent will be there to take their place so to put their mind at ease about not making it to the meet.

We need to be flexible(on many other things as well) on this cus we simply don’t know the turn out going to be, if I had you to be a leader already, What if we only have 25 cars show up? That would be 4 cars to a group, sure don’t what to take that roll away from you on the day of the meet.

I also might need to ask Brain (Setarcos) to be emergency leader as this meet is getting bigger, So Brain, if you are reading this? consider this is an warnning!...

, Here I am...I was going to write that I can not be here 24 hours a day, I have a life...but we all know that simply isnt true...

There isn’t much alternative to stop along the way, since few ppl have talked bits and pieces of drive route already and I think LE can figure it out, so its not a secret anymore! I think we can all agree that Alice isn’t an viable option to stop anymore, other one would be at first stop sign there is a small parking lot but its always packed and cant handle more than 15 cars, and that bring us to this particular spot, the reason I pick this spot besides the lack of alternative? it have nice scenery, rest room, decent size lot, easy access in and out of lot and lastly, not utilized by locals. Sure it can not fit all of us without some creative parking techniques and I have touch on it before about being flexible, we have to wait and see on the day of the meet, first we need to see what the turn out are going to be, sure we have about 45 cars signed up now, with the weather is about rain on Friday, how many of them will actually show up? Your guess are as good as mine.

We can certainly by pass it and go directly to S/C’s staging area, or we could regroup by Rite-Aid parking lot, but I cant remember which town it is in tho, and even at there? We still wont have enough spaces for all of us and will present some problems when we leave there due to the local traffic. I have few ppl voicing about how hungry they were on the last two dry runs, also couple of ppl had posted here concerning about the lateness of lunch time so if we don’t stop along the way, How would they going to replenish?…

Although this might sound bit of “cop out” but I cant plan for or foreseen all the “what ifs” and that’s just cant be done by me alone and I don’t have that much skills or able to communicating with everyone on the drive, so I figure the best way is to leave it to individual group leader to determine what is best course of action on the day of the meet.

The way the groups going to leave for the drive, I was going to separate the groups into two batches leaving the meeting location, first three groups will be in one batch and last two or three groups will be in other, with small gap in between groups but larger gap between the two batch…I was hoping by the time first batch arrived at vista point? They can judge the parking situation and radio/phone to second batch about it. It should fit first batch without much of problem, it’s the second batch that concerns me, if there is not enough spaces? They could stop at next stop sign where Mike and Chris did last time, where it should able to park 12~15 cars safely, the last group might have to regroup at Rite- Aid.

The reason I had set the order of the leaders the way it was is this…The first batch is You, of course an experienced leader to say the least, and you have two first timers on your tail, this way you can keep good eye on them, not saying they needed but just in case any problems should arise? You will be there to help them out.

I have Rob as fourth group leader and should be leader of the second batch, he knows the area pretty well and have been leader on the drive before, so hope with his experience? He can handle most anything during the drive and he also have “cool hand “ Wes and “eager” Paul along with him to share some of the burden, and of course I will bring up the rear as usual.

I’m also planning on put ppl with friends that don’t have G35 into one group, perhaps in last group, that way if there no parking at vista? They could pass it and find other place to regroup so we could keep as much G35 together as possible and just in case we don’t have enough seating at 99 bottles? They could still sit together with their friends but might not be with rest of the group.

Anyone who have any concerns, questions? please post it so we could find a way to work it out to the best of my ability (however inadequately as it might be) before the meet, it might not be your way or the way you liked? but keep this in mind tho, it need to be in the best interest of whole group rather than any individuals, so your considerations and understanding is very much appreciated and needed.

Was on very first post...

Upon arrival at meeting location, please come by and check-in with me, so I can assign you to a group, it will be in order of check-in, not by driving speed, once you are assigned? Please park together with that group so it will be lot simpler when we pull out for the drive, Of course it will depends on if any of you are willing to volunteer to be a group leader, other wise I am just wasting my breath . Bring the two-way radio, we will be on channel 7, and a dollar for the parking fee (2 hours), As always, please gas up prior of arriving at meeting location and please do drive safely, and within your driving limit/comfort zone, no stuns, no peeling out, no donuts, however low speed drifting upon arrival is optional though.

Shane, thanks for your thoughts on the matter. After going over the said, I will toss this out.

Let's say we have 6 groups of cars . . . Which, at this point, gives us 6 to 7 car groups. I definitely like your timing intervals between the individual groups and the 2 larger packs. That is an excellent idea.

Now, upon arriving at the "Vista Point," I will make a decision to drive through or enter. If I make the enter choice, I will enter the lot and swing around wide and double back to the edge of the entrance. I will flag down the pursuing groups and line them up for easy exiting, if they so decide to enter. As the lot fills up, it will be the decision of the following group leaders to decide whether to enter, considering the lot conditions . . . Or I may simply wave off approaching groups if the parking conditions do not allow for safe entry and exiting . . . Which will lead to another set of issues.

Having said that . . . Whew! . . . My feelings will not be hurt any if our motorcycle chasing, truck stopping, and Ferrari zapping CHP officer friend is parked at his spotting place that day. We'll just cruise on by with light feet and heavier wallets and head towards the outskirts of SC. Hey, Kris, if our buddy is there . . . No revving your engine, please.

Upon arriving at Vista point? It should be pretty easy to judge the spaces, there are 14 spots with 4 more facing other way so if there is no one there? First group should be park at spot closest to the hadicap spot (right most of the lot) and line it up bumper to bumper upto 6 cars and last two cars in first group should park at other side facing other way, and second group should take next two spots and line up bumper to bumper 5 cars deep, third will take next two and park 4 deep, so for and so on…when we ready to pull out? Last car in the group simply reverse out and line up along side of the road (carefully of course), until everyone in that group are line up, which the leader should still be in front.

If you see LE around or dont have enough spaces? Keep on driving but be sure to radio out the warning (especially to me) …We don’t have to stop at same place at same time or for certain amount of time, with us divided into 5 or 6 groups? It will afford us much flexibility, even if we got separated from other groups on the drive or staging location? Each group still can have nice mini-drive, as long as everyone get to same S/C parking location safely, that’s more importantly than how or where we going to stop along the way.

Why can't I be "cool hand" ? It's the NISMO outfit isn't it? OK, I say go with the flow and just be prepared to be flexible. EVERYBODY bring a 2way .

I am curious to see what the rain situation will be on Saturday. The idea of trecking all the way from Sac in the rain does not entirely thrill me... but that call will be made day before. Those weather guys never get it right.

My sentiments exactly plus my wife had all her wisdom teeth taken out and she may ask me to babysit her through this painful time
