Suspension in San Francisco or nearby
so, i may be driving my car for quite a while longer. my commute is less than 5k miles annually, and it doesn't make sense to get back into debt to get a new car. my G has over 80k miles on it, and i would like to finally get new shocks. aftermarket, no more than 1 inch drop. but the problem is that i don't have the time to drive down to z car garage to do it - 50 miles one way...
i need a shop in the city or nearby who can install and align aftermarket suspension. anyone has any suggestions?...

I think you made quite a prudent decision. If it were me, I would take my car to MachII, which is located a few blocks from SFCC on Ocean Ave. They can install and perform an alignment on the spot.
If so desired, you might consider going with a Tokico D-spec/Tein spring set-up. I recommended the D-spec9 and Z S-Tech to my brother and he loves the handling and stance. However, you may choose to go with Z H-Techs. Hopefully, this you give you a few ideas.

completely forgot about mach III. http://www.machiii.net/ for the record.
i would like to get something softer than stock sport suspension, but keep the sport feel. i already have hotchkis sways set on medium/medium, so my cornering is nice and straight, with practically no body roll. it's the bumpiness of it that i don't like - going over rough roads i can feel every bump. by comparison, i rode in a civic coupe couple of days ago, and that was a LOT bumpier.
how will tokico d-spec/tein spring setup compare to stock sport setup?

Sorry, Igor . . . My brother's set-up is the Tokico D-spec 9's paired with the Tein Z H-Techs . . . Not the Z S-Techs. When he knows that he will be driving our parents around and about, he adjust and softens up the D-specs a bit.

the one G i ever ride in and liked aftermarket suspension was sukhi's G. i think he had tokico something or other - PMed him, but i doubt i'll get anything out of that, i think he sold his G... vodkarocket's suspension was a little too bouncy and rough for me. need better options...
btw, MACHIII it is. i will drive down there saturday and talk to them. now if only i could decide what setup to go with...

I have the revised 350z springs + tokico d-spec shocks.
I can set it to be either stiffer than stock or softer than stock. I think this set up is really nice. And the drop from stock is about an inch.
Have you thought about that yet Igor?

D-specs are great for adjustability - ride is amazing even running on 20s w/ 245/35s. I'm running Coupe springs in the rear + unrevised Z springs up front. Very happy.
