wheel/tire issues with sedan. FITMENT.
Work emotion CR-Kai's +20 offset 18"
rolling on 235/40/18 and rear 275/35/18
ok, so i just purchased some wheels from ravspec, a sponsor on this site and the fitment of the wheels were made for coupes.. so without proper knowledge and information, i put them on my sedan. so after slapping on the rims and new bridgestone potenza re050a pole position tires, i went thru the rears in 5 days. rubbing was minimal, but was cutting thru the sides....
right now, i've come up with a few solutions
option 1---Raise my car, new springs. something like tien h-techs or anything that would allow it to be higher than stock height.
option 2---temporarily, i've made some custom rubber spring stoppers to stiffen up my stock springs and lessen the rubbing.
option 3---camber kit, SUPER cambering like show cars =)
option 4--- somehow, flare my fenders outward
option 5-- get new rims... =( so? who wants to buy a new set of work emotion cr-kai's with BRAND new bridgestone potenza re050a's. 99% treadwear left! only rode on them for 2 days.
will have pictures up tomorrow.

you cant do anything to make the wheels fit on the sedan. I'd contact Ravspec and make them get you new wheels at no cost. If you told them you had a sedan and they sent you those wheels, they are at fault. But if they give you a hard time then you shouldnt have a problem selling the wheels on here or on my350z.com

option 6-- remove front and rear fenders and run it open tire, F1 style baby
Not to give you a hard time but, how was rubbing minimal if the fenders were cutting through your sidewalls?
What width are the rims? 8" or 8.5"?

Realistically, just sell those and get these:

yeah, at the moment, im using spring stoppers to stiffen the springs so it won't bounce as much. the sport sedan springs have alot more coils than the coupes, so i had to cut the stoppers in half and stick them inbtwn each coil. ghettoness!
another reason why the search is your best friend on these forums. even my 38mm offset with my drop will sometimes rub on driveways ....anything with a lower offset won't work on a sedan. if he told u 20mm offset prior to ur purchase u shouldve said something. good luck on getting it fixed
