that's what i did first time around. although i ordered it online. i'll just find a local shop to do that, if i decide to do that.

i'll talk to the service people in person - it's quite difficult to call someone on bullsh1t over the phone and not offend them. so, i'll wait for them to fix my car, and only then try to pull rank.

WOW! $950 for the seat rattle. Glad I am still under warranty.

Good Luck.

I would stick with the oem NGK laser plugs. PLFR5A-11. You can do the swap yourself in 1-2 hours taking your time.

I got the plugs at a local parts store for ~$7ea, $9.50 is a bit much.

lovely. so, the starter did not go out yesterday (as in - did not get shipped), even though i paid extra to have it overnighted.

Pete is having someone come get me at work, bring to the dealship, and give me a loaner car that was scheduled to be given to someone else. Sucks for the other guy, but good for me. They are trying to mend someone else's mistake, and doing it right. So far so good!

bythabay, why would you want to do this free?

of course, however, the block must be cold for me to remove the plugs. It can be done with a hot block but it's not good to do plugs on a hot engine. I prefer cold.

Good luck.
I agree. My 95 bimmer also had a mechanism which would not allow you to "restart" a started engine.

Which makes me wonder, anyone ever notice how if you miss the start on the first turn, starting it again sounds VERY unnatural, unlike other cars I've had. Almost like its awakening from death

if it wasn't the starter, are they still making you pay for the overnighting?

well, the starter is dead, and because of that, if i want the starter here tomorrow and not in 2-3 days, i pay extra. w/e - $30 more, in the grand schema of things, it's not much.

oh i totally misread what you wrote. i thought by not going out you meant that it wasn't the source of the problem. you mean it didn't SHIP. that blows. gotcha now

just got back from the dealer - Pete put me in an 07 G35 sedan non-sport non-navi. white on white. so, here's my mini-review, having driving it for 10 miles.

- interior is blah
- roof ligning sucks
- stereo display is completely invisible with my polarized shades (you have to tilt your head 90% to see anything)
- the gas pedal has about an inch free move, then the car just takes off - very difficult to modulate
- the gas pedal is hinged at the bottom - feels very weird
- seats are nice
- ride is soft but still pretty rough - feels like an 05 non-sport G35 sedan i rode in to the dealship
- brakes are quite nice
- huge body roll in turns, especially while braking - i miss my sways and stoptech stage 2
- lots of power
- engine noise is almost always non-existant - i miss my intake/plenum/headers
- shifter sucks, rough and not pleasant to the touch, and a lot harder to move than in my G (i'm used to upshift/downshift by slapping it, doesn't work here too well)
- shifts suck - noticeable delay in tiptronic-induced shifts - i miss my Stillen Valve Body upgrade
- rev-matching is nice, but i miss the immediacy of my downshifts
- lots and lots of power, but less control

i don't like it. i want my car back.
