New Clutch Mod . . .

I found this thread over on the My350Z boards. It sounds like a pretty interesting mod to eliminate the long travel prior to the engagement of our clutches.

The said long travel has always been a sore point with me, since day one. Has any of you heard of this particular mod?

I have always hated the real high engagement point on the clutch. I'm not sure that I want to order it though as information is so limited.

For the pass two years I have read about the clutch pedal adjustment to rid of the long clutch engagement. However, I have not performed the said adjustment because I have read about people having bad experiences with the self adjustment. If this posted mod follows through with its promise, it should prove to be a viable way to rid of the long travel to engagement.

I may jump into this new mod, early. If so, I'll let you folks know how it works out.

Andy... I too have read about all the unsuccessful attempts at this. The only thing that worries me about this mod is premature clutch wear. The guy claims it won't cause this. I believe many people would appreciate it if you tested this piece.

LOL . . . I was going to suggest that you be a sport and test this mod first, Giacomo. Seeing as how you beat me to the draw, I may do just that.

I have always envied how the brother's '04 6MT Sedan's clutch engaged nearly right off of the floor. That is the sort of engagement point that I have been accustomed to over the years. My G's clutch engagement point has always fallen short of what I had expected.

I'll be sure to inform everyone of my install and post install experiences with this clutch kit.

Andy...
Thanks for stepping up and taking one for the team. I will be sure to order one ASAP. I have always hated the clutch on the G.

I opted out of the so called 'Clevis' self adjustment, which you posted. In chatting with others, I learned that the said adjustment had proven to be harmful to their clutches by causing premature wear.

What ever you decide to do . . . The clutch had better be fully engaged and fully disengaged, when required. The said Clevis adjustment left much doubt in my mind with regard to the above.

Previously, my clutch engaged at the very top of the clutch pedal's travel. Now, with the D-Wolf it engages just a bit off of lift, which is what I am accustomed to.
