I was afraid you would get that response. Unfortunately, property crimes are not high on most LE agencies priority list. That's why I asked what city you live in to see what agency would handle the report. Some cities will only take phone reports for thefts. Don't expect CSI to come out and dust your car for prints, most departments don't have the resources for that. Make sure you make it clear that you have clear video of the suspect's face, hopefully that will make LE more interested. Many years ago I had my car stereo stolen in my driveway. There was a perfect full hand print from the thief on the inside of my window, but the police refused to come out and only took a phone report. It was pretty frustrating.

Sorry to see the damage. You may have alreadly done this but take the video and show the apartment manager. They just might know who it is. This happened at a property I managed years ago and it happened to be a contractor that was allowed on property. Good luck with the outcome.

Sorry about the break in. Good luck catching this guy. I need to get a camera like that. I don't have many windows on the front of my house.

I am about to go file the report, I hope they actually do something about it otherwise these kinds of guys have nothing to worry about, even IF they are on video. So I am going to make it clear that this guy needs to be investigated.

I'm thinking about getting another camera at for another angle on the car, talk about being paranoid!

Hopefully with filing report today and copy of vid (I'll assume) they might look for prints now.

Within past year I had two other cars I own jacked up bad. When they came out they dusted for prints after I asked if they would. They had a kit in their car.
Guess I was lucky they came out in the first place and had the resources/time and kit

Asking/showing manager was a good suggestion earlier. Maybe a past tenant still with key/code/card/whatever to get into garage space (assuming its a secured parking area).
Just a thought.

I dont have film of him breaking in... I showed management that night, but she said she hasn't seen him before, but her and the other guys that work here are nice and are on my side and want to catch this guy.

The video that recorded after this one has a refection on the bottom left corner of the screen against my car, something moving fast or hard.
